Yeah, I couldn't believe the aggro on the Guardian. All the DLC bosses
seem to be exceptionally agressive, which makes for some intense Souls'
action.

Agreed, only seen two bosses, but both were fast, slightly smaller bosses, which I like...
Yeah, I 'met' artorias, my pitiful dagger didnt even get 3rd of way through his health before my 10 flasks had run dry... Ill see what I can do against him tomorrow, though I got more familiar with his moves as fight went on.. His fight is gonna take so damn long to do with a bandits knife :/

You should summon help with that, Arty buffs his power progressively over time. I don't know how strong he will get, but he's done some objectionably crazy damage after buffing a few times.

Pardon my curiosity but why are you using a bandits knife? Is that the best weapon you've got? If so then you may be in for the long haul with Artorias.

I'm doing a run using only daggers for weapons, to be honest I was expecting this, but ill probably have to go to 20 flasks with artorias, he's pretty annoying to dodge.
Yeah the fact he buffs is annoying, ill probably try attacking him see if I can interrupt it like allants aoe attack

If you are willing to, using a bow to headshot him really helps

No hints guyyysssssssss GRRRR
I stopped playing after my defeat so I'm not exactly running out of options, he doesn't seem too bad..
Might try throwing knives to interrupt him if physical attacks don't work.. And I could buy some gold resin from mushroom woman

I think the guardian might be my favorite boss fight in the game. I really enjoy everything about it. Melee fighting two at a time is really really fun too. Just pulled it off for the first time the other night.

I've only killed one boss so far.. Artorias is number 2, since he's the closest.
Though when they show up ill give that a go for sure, though ill have to use a better weapon definitely

The Guardian was the first one you killed. The big white lion thing.

Yeah I know, but there was only one of him, that's what I'm confused about.
I presume you see them again as normal enemies later on though

I don't want to ruin anything for you, so I'll spoiler my response.
- Spoiler:
- Go back to the arena where you fought the first one and he'll have respawned and multiplied. You can fight them over and over again. Good fun.
You'll figure it out on your own sooner or later anyway. It's not like some crazy thing like some other hidden things that've been found.

Re: So.. I just started the DLC...
I haven't read above because I don't want to be spoiled, I just got it too Serious, I'm trying to figure out how to activate it but I think I need to progress further into the vanilla game before I can open up the DLC.
ANYWHO, I have a question for the fine knowledgeable people here: If I were to access the DLC and then load my file on another PS3, would I be able to load my file and have the character load outside the area? Or do I need to have the DLC downloaded or my character out of the area before I can access my save files on another ps3 via PSN+?
Thanks for the help.

Re: So.. I just started the DLC...
You'll have to have the DLC, but in fairness it's the patch that contains the DLC data not the DLC download so shouldn't be much of a problem

Re: So.. I just started the DLC...
You'd still need the DLC downloaded if your character is in the DLC area I'd presume but if you can just download the key you bought to unlock the DLC in like 10 seconds so it shouldn't be an issue. As Serious siad all the actual DLC game files are in with the patch already

@Serious... Good luck (you're gonna need it ), but seriously without giving too much away (well nothing that you won't already know) once you've learned all of Art's moves, and how to effectively dodge them, a Bandit Knife is just as good as any weapon, and given the speed at which you will be able to wield the thing I suspect that it won't be long before you've moved on from him.

That's exactly what I'm thinking, he's very fast, so quick weapon should be okay (even if its pitifully weak)

@Serious:
The problem with daggers in this particular fight isn't their damage, but the fact you can't use their Aux effects and high criticals, which are their primary ways to be used. Also, their short reach and nonexistent Poise break will pose a problem for you numerous times with Artorias.
Good luck man!
PS:
Artorias is my favorite boss in the game.
I always feel sorry for him, for what happened to him.
I have big respect for his skills, considreing what he's capable of in his state. Corrupted by the Dark, with crushed left arm and he still manages to slaughter most players with ease.
Once, I've fought him with my Claymore, one handed, no shield, just like he does and also no spells and healing. I'd just use Grass if he manages to pull his boost off, so we're both boosted.
Best PvE fight ever.

Re: So.. I just started the DLC...
@Sentiel... Now there's a thought, a Boss-empathy run, whereby you'd have to mirror each bosses fighting style, right down to they way they dress and the items/spells/what-have-ya they wield.
The only downside I can see to this is that you would have to have had to play the game numerous times over in order to get all of the equipment/what-have-ya needed, and off the hat I suspect that you'd be well into NG++etc territory before you could begin the run proper.
Still, I'd be willing to give it a go!

Yeah that's a problem, the speed of daggers usually makes up for that on slower bosses, but on artorias you can only realistically get one hit in if you don't wanna take damage.. It does complicate things a bit. Was delighted when I found I could bs the tree guys, they're a nuisance really, stone giant guys aren't bad on their own though, easy to dodge really.
I'm looking forward to fighting that black dragon that may be a boss, there's no real conventional dragon fights in the normal game so I think it'll be fun
