Alrigth everyone.
So, first of all, I'm pumped and worried for this sequel (?) at the same time. Everybody on here said why. Thus I will not go into detail much. I just hope that they don't say: Screw the fans, we need sales! But rather invite new players to check out what made the last two Souls games so great while updating (some of the) things, all the people on these forums were hoping for.
Don't forget your roots FROM, please.
Enough of that. We will need to wait for more information anyway.
What I am really curious about: Why has nobody (I've seen) tried to link the DLC and the new game yet?
I mean. Kalameet. Last (official) Dragon, New area of Lordran or another part of the universe (a new land) that was Oolacile and became Darkroot. Chester - I mean CHESTER!!!
Why did nobody notice the similarities of Chester and these assassin dudes in the trailer trying to kill the protagonist? Black clothing, white masks, a lot of belt buckles across the outfit. And daggers...
Seems perfectly fitting. To my mind, the DLC wasn't just some add on to the first DkS but also an introduction of how the whole universe is connected and what to expect from a new game.
The dragon has been there, the time-travelling and time-distortion elements were introduced, heck, Chester even admits, he and the Chosen Undead being pulled in from a different time and that they are strangers to this land. So what if Chester really IS from another land not linked to Lordran directly. Maybe another kingdom like Berenike, Carim, stuff we haven't seen so far. We have no clue, if he even came from the same time as the Chosen Undead in DkS. He could have been pulled in from a totally different period of time. That would have been the best teaser for a sequel they could have come up with. Especially since one would need to figure this out. Like you had to with almost the whole storyline. I would appreciate if the DLC would also hint at some of the things to come with DkS II.
Other things, I spotted in the trailer were the flesh of the dragon(s) (look at the trailer, about 40 seconds in, the girl standing on the mountain, looking at the castle in the distance. There is two dragons flying around!) that is practically rotten. If you look closely at the ending part of the trailer, the dragon seems to have not really 3 but one real eye. I can only spot one though. Which is the one in the middle. The other eye sockets seem to be empty. Even if that would not be the case, its flesh looks torn or as if it was coming loose. I wonder why.
Also the protagonist seems to be in constant fear of being attacked. As if he expected to be attacked. The way he turns in the beginning of the trailer seemed almost paranoid.
Oh, and the sizzling blood... Does that mean that the ground is so hot, blood begins boiling... How could they even stand there. Maybe the protagonist contains a flame of his own, that makes his blood boil and leads to the immortality (coming back from the dead) because, I saw no indication of bonfires in the trailer and the character seems to die more than once! (The assassins hurt him enough to go to his knees, probably dying at the last few seconds of the trailer, yet he also gets fried by the fire of the dragon at the end... not possible without returning from the dead.)
What do you think about this?
By the way, I'm not sure if this is a prequel or a sequel, or even both. I think we really miss more information currently.
I'm also amazed how nobody seems to have noticed the similarity of the new protagonist guys armor and the one Solaire had. I think the color scheme is quite similar.
I'm looking forward to your ideas.
