I invaded the same guy three times in a row as a Forest Hunter, and arrived just in time to watch another Hunter kill him each time.

...I was indicted all three times.

I always thought of Indictment as a way of showing my invader that he fought well. A reward of sorts. With the exception of some heavy role playing players, that perhaps invade to offer Humanity to Kaathe, most people invade for PvP fun. As such I always thought they care about their rank in the Book of the Guilty, so indicting them moves them up in the book, thus it's more of a reward for them, than getting souls and Humanity.

Correct me, if I'm wrong please.

Anyway, I indict only if the invader fought fair, or was fun to play with. (I mean that he didn't gank me, chain bs me, used any glitch and didn't twink on low SL).

Depends on the host. Some people use it as a compliment, others do it because they are pissed off that you beat them.

It really does depend. Sometimes you can win a 3/2v1 gankfest and not get indicted and sometimes fight the most honorable fight in your lifetime and get indicted.

    That's possible. What's your PSN?
Chances that I will rememeber you are very low, but we can try.
Now, that wasn't anything personal, it's just that most people use very strange nicks and I tend to forget them immediately. Over 20 years of videogames f*cked my memory a bit. Prostration

    On the topic of Indictment.
I still don't have solid opinion on them.

Some have sent me hatemail for Indicting them, some have even thanked me.

I think that, especially Japanese players, view Indictment negatively, although I'm not sure. I don't speak Japanese and most of them, that I tried to contact either didn't understand me, or simply insta hated me for not speaking Japanese. Well What is it

To Indict, or not to Indict, that is the question...

it is the opposite for me, i don't indict the people who give me a fair fight, but the ones that backstab fish, glitch/hack, and use cheap tricks, I always indict them so that the Darkmoon Blades shall hunt them down for their terrible sins! >happy

i indict all random invasions, except forest hunters, and i don't indict players that i have summoned, no matter how well or honorably they fought.

This issue just confuses me. Does the invader want to be indicted? It is impossible to know. So I just indict anyone I'm given the option to and let the Darkmoons sort it out. You were (not) Indicted 323315581

Also, killing a darkmoon invader is always fun.

Do indictments get consumed once you indict someone? I always buy 2 from Oswald, but I end up indicting more than 5 people and it seems that it always gives me the option to do so, and no, I didn't check my inventory.

I got invaded a while ago by a dw and he dropped an indictment. After he lost I messaged him and he said he wanted to be indicted. I also indicted someone and they were so happy cause it was their first one. So I indicte everyone now.

I never invade regularly, only as a catbro, so when ever I get indicted I take it as a "thanks for owning me and my buddy, hopefully someone more skilled will take care of you for us". Though I'd hardly call the average darkmoon more skilled silly

Though I do love climbing up in the book of guilty.

No, they don't get used up. Even though you can buy 99 of them, when you actually Indict somebody an Indictment isn't consumed, so you really need just one.

I do think it's funny how Oswald makes fun of you if you buy indicments though.

Indictments don't really mean anything to me, the only thing it means is that I have to kill more spirits of vengeance.
Personally, I do it if an invader is incredibly cheap and doesn't deserve his humanity.

I used to indict everytime I was killed by a DW because I thought that's just what you were supposed to do. I have heard mixed views on what it means (good or bad, reward or punishment). It's a little confusing, so I just think about whether or not I should indict... and by then, the counter is done. Not-so-long story short, I just don't indict anymore because I can't decide if it's a reward or a punishment.

i wait to see if they taunt if so, no indictment cause their being a d###wraith and thus are looking for indictments to increase their score in the guilty book, if no taunt i usually will and maybe send a note stating my intention that most dw's see indictments as a good thing.

I usually DON'T indict people only because it feels like giving them satisfaction. I figure if I don't indict, I'm saying "meh, whatever dude...run along now".

That's kind of my take also. Originally I used them on people who won against me by being cheap, but then I heard people discussing how they wanted to get them, so I just don't use them at all anymore. Instead, if someone does something in a fight that makes me angry, I tend to just invade right back and give it another go.

I only had 150 indicts after about that many hours of forest hunting, and once I racked up 200 kills in 24 hours of DW'ing for a mass invasion, and only got around 4 or 5 indicts. I'm assuming some of the people that have 1000+ sin had to have cheated somehow.

back in the very early days of the game, i got invaded by some housewife in the parish. he dropped a present for me and ran away, "cool" i'm thinking to myself. sadly, it turned out that what he dropped was an indictment slip. right after i picked it up they ganked me with a lightning shotel…i didn't bother to indict them,
