I -love- getting indicted

I fight fairly, I try to bow before beginning my attack (even though my current Mage build is Darkwraith and I guess you're supposed to fight without honor, I mean you're invading right?), and I don't win every invasion, but I have to say, I see it as a badge of awesomeness when I get indicted, as I seems to happen mostly when the invadee gets ridiculously frustrated with my play.

My Mage is SL60 and I'm invading in Darkroot Garden (past the doors) a forest farmer today that was using a demon spear. One of their hits got me down to 10% life, when I parried his second thrust successfully, riposted with 1540 damage (which didn't kill him surprisingly) and gave him one last shank as he was getting up to KO him. Then came the indictment. I laughed.

So, my real question is: what do people think the main reason is that people indict others?

And was my shanking him while he was getting up dishonorable?

I love getting indicted too, since it means that I get to kill more Darkmoons... I hate me some Darkmoons

I like when I get the indictment message. It means I caused some level of grief for the fallen opponent.

me to, i love when i indicted, i indict people when we had a good duel ans honorfull

I have never indicted anyone, but love being indicted....so i suppose I should.

I indict player based on equipment, no joke. If you flip around in full Havels with lightning bandits knife, I will indict you.

However, if you kill me wearing the maidens robe and Dragon bone fist, trololol on brother, you deserve it.

I love getting indicted and I indict everytime. I look at it as a badge of honor.

I'm surprised indiction doesn't happen more often. Im lucky if i get indicted once in 10-15 victories. I tend to invade at Dukes, Ariamis or New Londo as to make sure people are well enough equipped for a good fight.
I personally only indict if i feel i have lost a fair fight. Obviously the whats "fair" argument will always cause controversy but if you invade me anywhere pre anor londo with lightning gear, jog on.

for me indictments aren't a penalty, it's more like rewarding the ppl that fight honorable. so i only indict players if they played fair

Yeah well done, you get indicted, then you cry that you get killed by darkmoons and you hide in levels that you've already completed, well done.

I've never thought about indicting anyone, I thought of it as a way of saying 'Well, I couldn't beat you, so I hope someone else can'. My take is that I want to get better and maybe I'll take you down next time. Of course that doesn't help with those abusing the BB glitch and invading my level 5 character in the chapel, but you can't do crap about that kind of stupidity, happens in every game. I just stay hollow until I actually need help, like Anor Londo for that damn run up the buttress when the Silver Knights are pot-shotting you (my least favorite part of the game)

I only indict someone if they take advantage of the enemies to help them (or hide behind enemies to fully heal) or if I lose a great deal of souls and/or humanity because of their kill.

If someone is buffed up for a low-level invasion, I'll give them a pass the FIRST time. If they continue to invade to take advantage, I'll indict.

Nothing you can do to a forest host is unfair. They're almost universally the worst and cheapest players in Dark Souls, and they deserve to be chain backstabbed, particularly if they're able to survive a 1,500 damage riposte (i.e., they're high-level farmers wasting the time of low-level forest covenent members). People's reasons for indicting varry so much that it's hard to tell what they mean. Some do it when you fight "unfairly," and some do it to reward an awesome match. I personally don't do it at all, because I'm too lazy to buy indictments.

To be honest I don't see why you can buy more than 1 indictment, they don't ever disappear and aren't ever consumed when you do indict someone, I never indict anyone anyway because thats what Darkwraiths want, I don't like to give satisfaction to players who kill lowbies in the parish. It no longer means anything to get darkwraith at SL1 now anyway as 4kings is easy with 2 combustions attuned.

I indict otherwise darkmoons would have to sit around twiddling their thumbs... thats if i can be bothered to buy an indictment.

I don't think griefers should get indicted though, it's just being dicks to newbies and as a result i see guys who i get summoned by in like black knight armour/giants armour with black knight/upgraded weapons with no skill at all, and it's obvious someone just gave them the gear... :/

They normally suck at pvp you can riposte them, but if they don't take too much damage you can try kicking them off a ledge

It's because pre-patch they would be removed from your inventory.

I indict almost every chance I get. Sometimes I won't, but I don't have a consistent reason why I don't, depends on how I feel.

Yea but its too much work to get at the top of the tower, talk to that guy and stuff.

The whole indictment concept is so strange and twisted, and just adds to the idea that From doesn't want people being respectful and nice to each other. They want you to piss off the guy you invaded so he can "indict" you for your terrible sins. I love it.

Not to mention the gestures like the face palm and taunting.

Personally I love it as well, I indict people as a compliment when they kill me lol, I figure that it's what they're after as well, am I wrong?

I too love being indicted, but what I've noticed is that it happens FAR more often when I'm being a dick compared to when I bow after a fight.
