So for the next few days it seems (as well as yesterday and today) anyone saying "it's freezing out" to me will get the reply: "You wish it was that warm."


-5 today (Fahrenheit) and my three year old is still giggling and smiling to step outside. She's crazy

Oh please, -20 (-5f) is barbecue weather! But I do find it retarded when people say "it's freezing outside"--freezing is 0 degrees, that's speedo season!

I love the cold weather, snow and ice are great in my book.

Yeah, unless I have to go to work it's shorts and t-shirt year round. I get some strange looks shoveling but whatever. Two years ago it got down to -19F (-28C). Since it was a work day we had to at least venture to the car to go to Day Care then Work. The car took a few tries to start (wimp) and I was out there with my standard polo shirt for work to do that and brush it off. I brought my daughter out (bundled up since she has way less mass than me) and we got hit with a blast of wind right in the face.

She laughed and smiled.....

Freezing? Pshaw, might as well be summer.

The weather turned here yesterday. We're all freezing our tuchuses off with a frigid 74º Fahrenheit.

Swedish architects are moving in next week, they've plans to build an ice hotel.

Although I have to say I don't think I'd trade you. I went to Disney World in November once and almost died from your "weather." 90ºF and humid around Thanksgiving? That's not right

Also, Hollywood is biased towards my life experience. All the good Christmas movies have snow.

No, the weather here is an abomination. The iguanas seem to like it, though.

I love the weather out right now. It's sad that we didn't get any snow but I've been outside for the past few days just jogging around. The wind gets pretty bad but the actual temp itself is only around 17 F.

Just finished a music theory proficiency exam. It would be a divine intervention or some **** if I actually passed it.

The very first question was what is pitch? And at that point I realized that I had used this word so many times before, heard it by others, and even played countless pitches, but I didn't actually know the definition

Pitch? Why, it's to put something out there, to forcefully send it in a direction or at something.

It's actually the frequency of sound, from a musical standpoint. But I knew so much of that test, jI just couldn't articulate chunks of it well enough.

How you find studying music? It actually helps composing? I studied my instrument (the guitar) and all music theory around it, plus music theory about how to compose (keys, which scales are inside each key, improvisation), I can play most string instruments in the way I want to (given enough practice), and the keyboard/piano I just need to learn the "technique" to play it, because I already understand how the music works, I only need to know how to "put my fingers" and practice lol, and I really feel like I know everything I need...

Only thing I think would help me was to study the more "engineering" side of music (creating effects, usage of effects, study of sound itself).

I ask this from an honest point of view, I love music, and after studying it with a particular teacher ( don't know the exact English word) for 2 years (focusing on the guitar, but music theory applies to everything that uses the 7 notes ), I feel like I don't have anything more to learn besides "examples" of how to do things (like subtle movements to reduce the "shock" of changing keys).

That on top of my father's pressure that tells me that studying that "doesn't give money" and that "I first need to study a real career" lol. Since I though I had nothing "useful" left to know I focused on studying my other interests (game development).
