Silly Pyro Flame Question

Sorry for the silly question but I haven't used much in the way of pyromancy or other cater based elements in my builds to date.

I understand that you can ascend the item as indicated on the forums

However my question is: Does the upgraded item have (upgraded) text on the screen next to it ? I was looking around for this over the weekend and I could have been typical 'mans' look and could not see the forest for the trees so to speak.

I currently have a +15 pyro flame on my SL19 which i took to Quelana and I saw the option to modify which cost 25k souls but to be honest I didn't look at the magic adjustment to see if the value had changed from 100 -> 254

if I sound like a noob or done make sense sorry I'm not well at the moment

The picture gets a bigger flame in it, but the name stays the same.

the description changes when ascended.

I had a really long bad day at work yesterday and had to go home and look after my son whom has a gastro bug and is vommiting all over the place. So I log onto DS and start farming some souls to pay for this upgrade, get to 150k souls and head to Quelana and just run past all the trash as I want a quick swap n go ...... some of those pesky mosquito things hit me as I am in the modiy weapon screen so i quickly get out of the menu and quickly lay rest to those nasty buggers with my +5 lightening spear.........

......... but wait not only did i murder those pesky bugs, quelana was also a victum of my friendly fire and was laid to rest at the same time

That's tragic! I'd offer to upgrade it for you, but my new character is still at the very beginning of the game. I guess I'm still offering if you don't mind waiting a bit. I'm not sure when I'll next have some time to play.

Finally - After getting into NG + over the weekend I managed to get my flame to ascension +5
only cost me 400K souls from a standard flame

Thanks to all those who had input to this topic.

Oh and i made sure i used a bow to clear away all the bugs before I sat down and had a cup of tea and a chat with her this time !
