Why Bother Bowing?

There are two reasons:

1. People who recognize the irony and are trying to piss you off.
2. People who think of ganking as perfectly normal and are just being respectful.

#2 is like the same deal when somebody messages me after a duel, "Why bow when you stunlock/wear MoM/spam parry/chain BS/whatever." Well to me those are totally normal things, so to me there's no reason not to bow.

I stopped bowing in duels, there is no point in gestures ATM unless you know that person, Invader will be using cheapest stuff there is and still bow like it was good fight, and idk why but it pisses me off like hella bad.

I know this method is not water tight but as a rule of thumb I can get a pretty good idea if a duel is going to be had were we are both on the same page by the reaction to my bow.....But I know the OP is not trying to make that point but more on towards a way of rubbing it in with them bowing and I tend to agree with him.......

I don't really bow before a fight anymore at all. I've just been burned one too many times. If they bow from close enough to me, so that if I were so inclined I could attack them during it, then I'll stop what I'm doing and return it, even if I've already buffed, but outside of that I just don't really bother anymore. If someone's fought well I'll generally bow after a fight, but I'm just not willing to leave myself exposed like that anymore.

Yeah, the best rule of thumb I've found is to only bow first in set-up duels. If neither of us bow beforehand then neither of us should have something to complain about.

Lately when I host town ship I stand with my back to the invader as they spawn and don't move. Most of the time the invader will bow at me and then I turn around and bow. But a few run in for a fast backstab thinking I'm afk, and I do a fast turn parry., or try to. I get a lot of partial parries, but the parries I do land feel so boss.

I misread that as "Why bother bowling?"

i would actually laugh my *** off and send you a good game mail. id be impressed. and if by some chance i survive the backstab i would probably just get up and do the prostration gesture in defeat and let you kill me.

Yeah. Unfortunately my 50 faith rushdown build is on hold. I've got like a handful of builds I want to make, and that's just about the last of them. And I work slowly.

I hate the proper bow. It seems snobbish.

I only bow if I RSS summon someone.

I dislike the proper bow because it makes my male characters look like they want to be pretty princesses. Anyway I bow to show respect to my opponent, to say I wish to fight you and I respect your skills. It also sets a certain standard to the duel like my opponent will let me buff after a bow as I will him so that's why I bow.

I guess everyone has their reasons but these are mine.

It doesn't set a standard. That people think it does is why people get upset when someone whos standard is different or doesn't have a standard failes to adhere to your standard.

I don't take it to heart if someone doesn't set it as a standard, to them I've just ruined their day. However when I do bow most people let me buff, buff themselves and all. You may not have the same experiences as I but that's just what I have found.
