its not so much the darkness, as the fact that your ability to guage distance is **** on in this fight, as how fast you move doesn't seem to make a difference, sometimes going slow towards on of em, sometimes zooming right up. not sure what was going on but it made for an interesting boss fight

If my character was an NPC, he would be trapped in a cage somewhere in the Sewers. If you freed him, then later he would be a summon at the Tomb of Giants hidden behind a fake wall next to the first bonfire. He would carry a lantern so you didn't need to, use a Divine winged spear for extra damage against the skeletons and sometimes cast Lightning Spears and Great Lighting Spears. He'd also actually be useful and able to heal himself on his own...

Then, if he survived the Tomb of Giants, he'd appear at the Sunlight Altar selling Lloyd's Talismans, Canvas Talismans, Heal, Great Heal, Gold Pine Resin and a limited number of White titanite Chunks.
