How do y'all use Crystal Weapons?

I've seen a couple of people using crystal weapons around the DkS PvP scene and I really want to know how would you go about using one? Would you get a replaceable weapon and then take it to crystal +1 then, when it breaks upgrade it and so on. Or do you just take it straight to +5 and farm slabs obsessively?

most people don't use them... but +4 then +5 and lots of backup weapons to make crystal.

Crytsal+4 is better than a +15, no need to wastes slabs. Just use buy-able weapons or easily farmable weapons.

I use +4s for some weapons then take them to +5 then... bury them in the great hallow.

They're mostly reserved for time when I need to be as serious as possible, forum events pre arranged duels and so on.

Obnoxious fact: On my standard Dex Pyro a Crystal Great Scythe breaks 600AR. Unfortunately it also breaks quite quickly and it's not farmable at all. At least my Crystal Mura is replacable without going into another game cycle.

Pretty much any weapon that can be farmed and bought can be efficient with the crystal upgrade, if you got the time to farm them and the chunks when they break. Some of these weapons have more AR for lower weight, for example crystal Light Crossbows have same AR as Heavy Crossbow for 2 less weight. Same happens with crystal Large Clubs. The thing is to farm, which most people don't like, but I have no problem because the weapons aren't so rare drops if you have 410 item discovery. I have a build that uses crystal BSS lol.

I weren't talking about Some guy himself, rather some other people I've seen doing ULTIMATE HYPER MODE DESTRUCTION for like 20 odd episodes or something, surely a crystal weapon can't last long enough to get around 4 hours of decent footage. Which is why I posed the question. TBH I didn't even know Some guy existed until like three or four days ago when my friend told me about this guy. So hah.

Crystal weapons offer a little more damage. Contrast that with all the farming (weapons and chunks) to only get a bit extra damage, and it isn't worth it, IMO.

I'd suggest using them for tourneys or Fight Clubs where you want the extra edge. The method for using/making them have already been covered.

Used to run a crystal washing pole build and currently have a crystal machete build going well. Strength weps benefit the most due to their high durability and high AR values.

As far as how they are used, basically, I use them the same as their standard path counterparts. Chunks are easily obtained and although I am ps3, I still have slabs leftover from the days when From soft gave them away.
