Do you have goku riding fluttershy on your desktop screen?
I don't know any other horse, other than Rainbow Dash. I blame Reaper for knowing those two

Re: Brony Thread
A desktop? You don't see a screen of different icons to click on, don't have a background picture on your laptop containing these icons, and is seen when none of your menus or any programs are open?
In my country, They call that the desktop.

Re: Brony Thread
I can't tell who's talking to who, hehe. I've done about 500 words but I'm not quite happy with it. I'm writing it from the perspective of a teenager called Ronan, but I'm much more comfortable writing in first person using my own name which is Lorcan. However, I assume that using myself as a character in a fan-fiction is quite creepy. Should I stick with writing from another person's perspective or restart using myself?

This is the pony thread. What else could the fanfic be about? It involves a human, parental abuse and swearing at ponies. Yes, I know the theme of the show is sunshine and happiness but I'm better at writing gritty fics rather than fics which adhere to the rules of a show.

Re: Brony Thread
... Hm. Do what you are comfortable with. It is your choice to show whether you choose yourself or another as the avatar of the protagonist.
Just remember: every choice has its cons and pros. Picking one will not be the same experience in the present and future as another.
Have fun

I'll choose myself as the protagonist, then. Only it's going to be really messed up when it gets to the adult-themed bit (NOT sexual). I'm going to come off as having messed up emotions or something. Maybe I should put in a disclaimer saying, "I do not act like this in real life and I assure you that I do not fantasise about adopting tiny little ponies."

Man is a coin of sorts, aren't they
Have fun. Don't include it, include it after responses are made. It is interesting what people say due to what they do and don't see.

Sounds like you should change the name (so no disclaimer needed), but keep yourself as the protagonist, just so you can picture the story unfolding more easily and make the story seem more natural. (if thats really possible)

Re: Brony Thread
I write a lot of short stories I always found it better to imagine yourself in your character's shoes and write on. On a side note I am going to write a darksouls short story. I create an idea and discussion thread for it. Maybe later on tonight or tomorrow morning

I was only choosing my own name because I can't think of any good names.

Re: Brony Thread
Jimmy, scotty, sean, danny, jerome, jamie, phil, tim, timmy, tom, ralph....
Come on just a name? It's not that important considering it's not about the name, but the story, the events that unfold. You should just look at some names and choose impulsively

But the name has to suit the character. The dark tower series wouldn't have been nearly as good if the protagonists name was Paddy Walsh instead of Roland Deschain. Actually, Roland is a pretty good name.

Pulling back a slightly old quote, but what exactly would the problem be with this?

In borderlands two, we get to customise the appearance of the characters... I'm turning Axton into a brony.
