True, I was merely joking back then, because honestly, I got no clue on this guy...to me he is just an adventurer, collecting items wherever he finds them, the chance of him being anything else requires massive speculation....and what usualy happens in those cases? random ideas...most of them arent that great...so thats why i sticked with the basic one this time.

Look at the symbols on Domhall's armor, then look at the Symbols on the Crystal Set, then the markings on Basilisk bellies and the Darkroot Geckos. For extra fun, compare the medallions on Domhall to those on the Channelers.

^ Aren't the markings on the Basilisks undersides supposed to be their true eyes? That's what Miyazaki said in the design works interview anyway. That the big bulbous eyes are just supposed to be distractions, or natural predator deterrents, like peacock feathers.

I don't know about lore, but I feel that the crystal general should have been a more common enemy. He would have been the "knight" for those levels.

I do think he's related to domhnall somehow though.

I love where this conversation is going. Did anyone manage to compare the markings to the medallions? I can't seem to find any image of the basilisk's belly.

Couldn't it be that other people before Seath have been able to make crystal armour and weapons?
Remember that Gough asks you to go and get the ember from the Archives - "Get shiny shiny from Duke" - and so presumably had knowledge of it from before. The crystalline armour set could have been made somewhere else, just as we presume that they make magic weapons in Vinheim.

Thats sounds like the giant blacksmith, not Gough....
I still havent been able to compare markings to make a connection between Doomhall and our unfriendly crystal knight....personaly, I dont think they are connected, but we will see.

The impression that I got, from reading the descriptions, is that there's a difference between blacksmith made crystal weapons, and the fully crystalline equipment found within the archives, or purchased from Domnhall, who I'm assuming has been in there himself to get that stuff. The descriptions of all the stuff that's fully crystalline says that it isn't known how it was made. Saying to me that there's a difference between that and the stuff that you watch being made.

That kinda led me believe you were confusing Gough with the giant blacksmith....still does.

It doesn't really matter what his name is: the blacksmith knows about crystal weapons before you bring him the crystal ember. He asks you to go and get it, in fact. So maybe crystal weapons and armour exist independent of Seath.
