right now i have two, first one is no head gear, with hard leather armor, elite knight gloves and knight leggings, love the way the whole left arm only is covered in armor and the right i covered in leather, i use the scimitar and reg scythe with the leather shield. the second one is no head gear, brigand armor and brass gloves and leggings. (theyre booth female btw)

Personally I like using complete armor sets. So far my favorites have been the silver knight armor with the black knight shield, for my medium melee build, and the pyromancer set with the crest shield, for my glass cannon caster/melee hybrid.

I made myself a kind of samurai/monk looking build that i have had some fun with.

Catarina Helm
Xanthous Overcoat
Havel's Gauntlets
Waistcloth of the Channelers

Any katana ( i have multiple i use)
Any shield ( i use crest and dragon crest)

Gender: female (REALLY important with this armor combo)
Hair: Grey

Head: Brigand hood
Torso: Cleric armor
Hands: Black iron gauntlets
Legs: Bloodstained skirt

Weapons: Small leather shield + Scythe (regular)


All these create very good and realistic black/brown armor combination that fits together really nicely.

If you don't try to look good or silly in your own way, you're missing out on one of the main factors of what makes an 'RPG' fun. You say that yet you're worried about your looks being top-heavy. Way to contradict yourself, man... Not hatin', just sayin'. =/

I wasn't trying to be "that guy", I was just saying effectiveness > looks IMO. I actually think full giants looks really good tbh, I think people are just sick of seeing it in pvp. I'd also prefer to have a full set of something ideally for consistency, apart from the giants/havels combo I mentioned.

At the moment im using

Elite knight helm
Hollow thief armor
Silver knight gauntlets
Leggings of Artorias

With the use of the Greatsword my char looks pretty awesome using this set, but it dose take some getting use too

Porcelain mask

Chaos blade as main weapon
SkS or lighting spear in off hand depending on Soul Level

RoFaP
Wolf or hornets ring.

Witch Cloak for looks. Then, I chose the other pieces based on remaining weight.

Thief Mask, Chester's Longcoat, Black Iron Gauntlets and Leggings. The gauntlets match up perfectly to where the cuffs are rolled, and the leggings mixed with the coat achieve the wanderer/warrior mix I was going for.

I have two armor sets that I constantly use, one for good defense and the other for being a dex/archer type of build.

Gough's Helm
Steel Armor
Giant Gauntlets
Black Iron Leggings

Dex/Archer

Hollow Thief's Hood
Black Leather Armor
Gough's Gauntlets
Heavy Boots

Gough's Gauntlets + Black Leather Armor looks awesome in my opinion. Especially when using a bow. 8)
