Having trouble playing Dark Souls...

Hey all. I've hit that roadblock that awaits most of us; I've fallen into a rut. I'm sick and tired of using a Claymore, but no matter what build I make I almost always fall back to one. It's caused me to stop playing the game, and even planning characters out just isn't as fun as it used to be. I can barely bring myself up to play.

Anyone have any idea as to how to bring back that *spark*? I've done low level challenges, I've done Can't Break Humanity challenges. I don't want to leave Lordran, but the game has become stale for me....
My typical build is 32/32/40/40 Vit/End/STR/Dex, and I've made a glass cannon Int build as well. Typically my characters are hybrids. Can anyone help me?

Either do a all cross/bow challenge, or make a pvp build with only bows/crossbows at SL 56 and invade in Anor Londo, it should get that spark back.

As kiddy as this sounds, try roleplaying. Make a build that's horribly ineffective, but fun to use. Or go on vacation for a month or two. The spark will come back then.

i recently started feeling this way and did two things. one i got with a buddy and we do alot of co-op, either pvp or pvm, we do challenged side by side or together, but in private chat either way so we can atleast BS while we play. i also started using gear (weapons, armor, spells) that i never used before i try to make it work. doing a no shield run with a weak weapon in a class you never use (fencing weps in my case) brings a new level of "oh sh!t" to the game

Try a Str build, PvP gets more challenging with the slow weapons. No Zweih nor BKGA, hardcore Str weapons like DGM, Smough's Hammer, DGA.

Stop using the Claymore. It's good but it's so overused, that's probably your main problem.

A joke build built around the Greatbows has been fun for me when I got into my own rut.

Hmmm, hard core STR weapons and or bow builds? Anyone have a good outline that I could tweek for either?

Hmmmm, maybe I should make a troll Forester with Avelyn/Chameleon/Hidden Body. Any of you guys tried that before? Just annoy the hell out of people/take pot shots during a fight?

Uh i do have a fun troll build for Anor londo. I turn into a pot on one of the small walkways above the painted world and just troll by shooting people off with my Dragon Slayer great bow. (I get alot of fanmail...) But no, i haven't done what you suggested. Does seem fun though.

I want to play, but can't bring myself to do it anymore. But.... will try the Avelyn Troll Build, hopefully that will be fun. And I've never used Ave before...

2. Go to Forest

2. Get RoF

3. Put items and prism stones on cliff next to stairs.

4. Piss off all the darkwaiths by shooting them off the cliff.

So I'm definately going to be doing some Trollin with the Great Bows, but I think my next build will be an Int/Marakuma build in the Easter Armor set. Way of the Samuri.

Sounds like you need a vacation trip to Boletaria. That'll refresh you!

I actually have a two person ticket to all the hot spots in Boletaria, but the other guy doesn't want to cash in his rewards points for a plane ticket, DESPITE saying he would do it a month ago....

TBH, i discovered that idea on YT, but it's hella fun. I think staying in the forest cov would be better since (almost) all darkwraiths spawn right next to cliff, and there can only be one.
