Considering Kirk

so i'm looking for advice on a new build i would like to try out. a Kirk quality build that uses allot of status effects (poison, toxin, bleed). i haven't started the build yet but i would like to be in the sub 100 soul level range.

my biggest question is on the Barbed Straight Sword. i hear tell that it works well with the Leo ring, but the Barbed Sword doesn't seem to have a thrust attack? so would the Leo Ring actually be useful in combination with this weapon?

Yes apperantly the leo ring does well with the barbed straight sword. Based on what iv heard all its attacks deal thrust damage and will be modified by the leo ring... iv never actually tried this combonation im just going off of what i have heard in the past. It would make sense for it to do thrust damage since you will be hitting your enemy basically with a spiked stick.

I've had one person confirm this and one person deny this for me. It need more testing.

My barbed sword + leo tests have yielded no positive results.

cool, so i can use that ring slot for something other than the Leo-Ring. probably Wolf Ring or Ring of Favor.

now then, i was planing on using the Gravelord Greatsword as my main weapon (to get my Gravelord on baby!), but i just scored the Black Knight Halberd from from the BK in the Darkroot Basin (HAZAH!), so i am going to hit 24str/18dex to start with. aside from the Barbed Sword, what other weapons would compliment this build? preferably something that was light, fast and can be buffed with rotten pine resin.

EDIT…i don't think i'll be wearing the full Thorns set of armour either, probably only the head, gauntlets and leggings. which set should i place on the torso? something that offers decent defense and looks good (being stylish is important, don't cha know), also light enough so i can maintain a fast roll.

If you're main is gonna be the gravelord gs you're better off just going 24/13 and pump vit and end, then make the bss chaos. The gravelord gs is best used with base stats.

…but…but…but…the Black Knight Halberd…i've never gotten one from that BK before…

Bk hal Is really good, you could always go 40/18 and use the bk weapons and make a chaos bss. Also you can farm bk weapons in the kiln.

…but the Kiln is so very far away…i want to use my precious now…my sweet, sweet precious…

besides i think i would prefer to use a 27/40 build over a 40/18 build. that might only work if i decide to level up past 100 though. i'm really torn on this one. damn my indecisiveness!
