Do you heal your phantoms?

I've seen people complain about host not healing them, but never had that happen to me.

I will heal my phantoms only if they are about to die, but I will always heal them in a boss fight.

It depends on how useful they are. If I know that killing the boss without them would be a pain, then I keep them alive. If they're there just to save some time then I don't heal them

It depends on how much Estus I have, but I normally heal my phbantoms outside of a boss fight if they are about to die and need the immediate help or if it seems like they have no humanity. I always heal them in a boss fight.

Well, if both of my phantoms have HP below 75% I use Estus, even if my HP is full.
If only one of them has low HP I won't heal him, unless he's fighting, so he can't heal himself. If he screws up so much that he needs healing, but the rest doesn't he should heal himself.
In Bossfight I heal them if they get below 50% as long as I have Estus.

If they die, then things start hitting me. No different to healing myself in the long run.

I view my job during a summons is to stay safe while the summons do the brunt of the work, so I do everything I can to not be lazy. Including chug all Estus while I remain full health and use whatever sort of magic i can.

I heal them whenever they take a significant hit. It's the polite thing to do.

If i see them running around the level with 40% Health and not popping Humanity i heal them .

And i always Heal in Boss fights since Bosses tend to focus on one Player at the Time giving me plenty of room to drink mah juice .

I only heal them if I see their health is below 70% and it depends on my health:

1. My health is at a value deemed not worthy of healing: I drop a humanity
2. My health is at a value deemed worthy of healing: I use Estus

Personally, it is usually #1 since I mostly stay back and let them do the job. Not mainly because it is the wisest move, but because most phantoms rush ahead before I do.

It's their job to get me through the level or die trying. I'd rather they not die, so I heal them, even if I'm at full health. I'll stage my healing based on their skill. If they get hit a lot, I'll heal them sooner.

I consider their health, my health, the amount of estus I have left and what I think I'll need later. I'll always try to keep a summon alive in the middle of a fight, but if one guy's almost dead and there's a break in the action I'll wait for him to hit a humanity -- they usually do, anyway. As a summon I get annoyed when a host won't estus when we both could use it. I've actually passed opportunities to heal myself; figuring either he'll do it eventually or he doesn't want/deserve my help. But, only if the host is really bad about it. Most hosts are very good about it, however.

Personally, I'm not that concerned about if they're good or not. It's tough to be so bad that they can't make up for the boss's extra HP. They'd have to pull a real bonehead move at a critical time and that's difficult to see coming, anyway. Also, consider that someone who appears to suck going through an area may be quite useful against the boss. I've gone through a few levels where the other guy(s) were tearing everybody up and I'm just trying to keep up and then I do almost all the damage on the boss and make it look easy.

I've never summoned a player for co-op before so I can't really say.

I'd just say that if you were the host you should assume that those phantoms are there to rely on you as a teammate and that you should work with your phantom when it comes to healing them. I'm sure some of the more experienced phantoms might know that they might need to take some humanity with them when it comes to co-oping with a new player just in case they don't know how to heal a phantom.

Provided they're not completely idiotic I'll heal them and keep them up. I can almost always spare the flasks.

I heal them whenever possible, but if they're reckless and I feel we migh run out of flasks, then I stop healing. Some people just trade blows, and on NG+, there isnt' enough healing to go around.

i myself think on who i sumoned because by looks you can tell what they can do their health and mine and how many my estuses are with me as well as the level and how close we are to the boss. generally i tend to be selective so i give them one or estuses and then let them go off if they cant take care of themselves and if im low on estuses then they suffer or use a hum.

Always. I rarely use all of 20 flasks, and even if estus is empty I still can heal myself with humanity.

Completely disagree. It's called co-op for a reason. Sunbro helps you, so you help sunbro. Plus, I can't count how many times I've took damage because of the host.
