i have to wear a hornets ring for any pvp respect and with only one spot left for rings im wondering what other dex builds out there use? i feel stuck with hornets and wolf rings to even stand a chance.

Im starting to think
the dex build has absolutely no benefit these days. Please no noobie responses i've played dark and demon souls for countless hours i don't need info like " just dodge more be nimble thats why dex builds are soo grand" i get it but here's my point with the hornets ring on at lvl 120 on heaviest armor the max bs i can get is 1200 where it seems like an axe or other weapons can reach up to 1400's or even now a dragon build with a bow can bs for more damage. my dagger is plus 14, but it just seems like with no armor little poise and tanks ninja flipping everywhere, the dex build straw is oddly small.

Re: Im starting to think
1) you don't need to wear light armour if you're a dex build
2) If you think the hornet's ring is necessary and the only way you're comparing STR and DEX builds is to compare BS damage, then you're doing something wrong
The dex build is to be able to get little hits and dodge out whilst avoiding damage while STR builds go for more solid attacks and can be quite open but patience is needed.
By the way, wolf's ring is obsolete compared to using havel's ring to equip armour with more poise and defense.

Re: Im starting to think
I agree. Dex-hybrids also suffer. They require more stats to be invested than Str-hybrids do (taking from vitality). The weapons are easily blocked by shields, except for the Shotel. They don't stunlock easily, so bleed effect usually doesn't happen.
But, a DMB kilij . . . er, I mean . . . Falcion can be lethal.

Re: Im starting to think
@ serious thanks for pointing out my flaws,.......... but, a bs description is the easiest way to describe it. And i use the bs example to illustrate that if i can die in one bs hit whilst others do not and i'm a freaking actual ninja build then something is a rye. thanks though, * ( . and i've done a lot of testing and i'm not sure havels ring can give you more poise and still offer under 25% burden. im besting at about the same.. my theory is that dex builds start to become efficient at around the 180 marks.

Re: Im starting to think
My dex build handles str users with ease.
I'm missing your point I guess.

Re: Im starting to think
also dex builds are supposed to hit and run, never attack more than once specially tif they have a little poise cause if you get stun locked youre screwed.

Re: Im starting to think
I guess my last point is a more balanced bs rewriting would be nice to keep people more honest about their builds. Fights which don't last longer than load screens don't add anything to this game

Re: Im starting to think
i would go with estoc, i dont get all the fuss ricard's gets, it looks cool but its not as long as estoc, it has less crit(i think) and estoc looks better anyway imo.
