The Iron Round Shield is my favorite for both looks and function.

Wooden shield, hands down. Good defense values, 65 stability (slightly more than grass crest by the way), weighs only 1.5, looks cool and has fast parry speed. I use it on almost every build i have.

lordgodofhell wrote:Small Leather shield is the best shield in this game for pvp. It has the fastest recovery time after attempting the parry above all shields. See its wiki page for its full usefulness and check HellsServants stream if you want to see how OP it is.
Now I get why everyone likes the other shields in this game. I honestly feel that after you're done with those, you will begin to realize all you need is the small leather. Idk, do what you want but realize riposte deals the highest amount of melee dmg, so becoming comfortable with parries is important. This shield was made for parrying. Beats Target and Buckler in speed of parry, recovery time, and weight.
the only pro is the weight, other than that its the same as all the other fast parry shields, i find the special parry shields better for parrying(specially those running attack of the great scythe) but the recovery is so damn long that i rarely use them.

Re: Favorite Shields
I msotly use Crest Shield. It saved my life numerous times when fighting against casters. Dragon Crest is right behind it and I switch to it as soon as I smell Pyro from my opponent. If I wear heavy armor and/or if I plan to two hand, I'll use Grass Crest.

Other than that my favorite shield is the cutting edge of my washing pole and the vicious offense I bring to the fight. To use a shield is to admit weakness.
Never block with the edge of a blade. Always block on the flat.

Crest shield all day, every day. It's a decent shield in it's own right, standard weight, and considering the amount of magic users you see these days, damn near essential if you aren't a fast roller.

Re: Favorite Shields
Sunlight shield +15 is surprisingly good with what seems to be a large "block area" (I've blocked attacks and projectiles with it while standing nearly sideways), and just looks awesome. Heater and small leather are also great for PvP but I like a magic warrior's +10 too. Fast parries, great magic resistance, and almost nobody uses it so it helps my coop builds get summoned a lot.

Re: Favorite Shields
Crest shield or Black Knight shield.Sometimes rolling just isn't viable and you need to block, like in Sens for example.I like those two shields because of the resistances. Can't always carry the Havel brick.
