I'm not sure if I'm the only one who has this problem or not but I hate being too good for myself.

When you play on a joke build and lose a good amount of your fights, like 40-80%, you don't really mind it and it doesn't affect you.

But when I play on my spear build and I only lose about 1% of my fights, that 1 time out of 100 that I lose infuriates me.

    Discuss.

I don't really use spears much, actually. On my INT build I off-hand a MLBH but that's pretty much it, honestly.

I think I'm starting to get that feeling a little, though it feels like because of my current build. My 100 has won about 80% of my fights and it really shows my improvement in the game. Never bothered me before because the old builds were horrible and never won much, now it does because this with the 100 my deaths are due to bs chains, the common tank,1v2 magic tanks, and the miscalculation I make. It really ticks me off since that means I'm losing to someone who can't win without being cheap half the time!

@LunarFog Your spear = magic? lol

Seriously though, ya sometimes. I attribute that to being better than average and playing against certain builds.

When you learn most of the advanced techniques and how to apply them with your specific build, you become "ascended".

The only real way to tell, imo, is to have large semi-pro and/or pro tourneys. Tourneys with specific rules putting everyone on a level playing field.

More than likely in the 125-150 range.

I wouldn't know I don't really do PVP all that much right now, and if I got back into it I'm sure I'd lose a lot.

I do remember winning a lot though when I was still using a build centered around the winged spear. I'd lose once every 6-10 invasions, but I deleted that build after I stopped having fun playing with it.

I wouldn't know. I'm not even close to being too good for my own good.

I want to have your concerns. I'm glad when my Win/Lose gets to 1/1.

Perhaps if I also used a spear...

It's because of your expectations, you expect to lose more than you win on a joke build, but on a serious build, especially one where you've had a decent amount of wins on, you don't necessarily expect to lose.

It's good to ALWAYS be stress free when doing PvP.
Set too high goals or too much pressure on yourself and you end up not enjoying your time.

Most people [or at least I'd like to think so] can't get a win/lose ratio of 99:1 in PVP. On a good day, I can win around 67-75% or ( 8-9 out of 12) of the matches I participate in - which I'd say is pretty decent. With that said, shouldn't you instead be proud of the level of mastery you've achieved? Besides, let's face it, there's no single build out there that'd be invincible in any kind of situation. And regardless of how skilled one is, you can't factor out player carelessness in pvp.

I always perform my best when I am just playing care-free with my favorite weapons. That's normally good enough for me to go undefeated for a couple days in a row, but then it gets to my head and I start making mistakes. I started to do what Juutas said and I started to enjoy my fights even more. Use your losses as a learning experience - when you are as good as you say you are and you are losing, it shows you still have a chance to improve. So take advantage of it work on whatever got you killed.

    I guess it’s about mindsets.

Not too sounds like a crazy person, but mine is almost the opposite. If I find myself actually winning fights (which is rare for me anyway) I tend to change up my setup for some reason.

Not that I don’t get frustrated when I keep getting killed, but winning a fight has almost no emotional impact for me. It’s all about the battle itself, putting on a good show.

I don't really mind losing at all. Worst case scenario is a deep sigh and figure out what I did wrong (or what the other did better). All my builds aren't most effective at what they do. If I were to play against my own builds, I don't think I would have a lot of trouble.

But I understand this situation. I have the same feelings in other games. In FPS, I tend to use the most useless guns (or just do only-knife). Stuff like that.
When I try for real and get a worse score than my 'joke' attempts, I can get a bit irritated silly

It's nice having a go-to weapon that you're most comfortable with. But like X said no matter how good you are, there is always room for improvement.

I hate being too good, none of my brother's will fight me anymore..... Oh wait your talking about a game not real life. It's just a game, relax and have fun. If your not having fun with your spear, try something different. Maybe challenge yourself by learning new skills.

Something else that helps: find someone who is much better than you and duel them a lot. Losing should not bother you anymore, and you can improve greatly like this.
