Apparently this house has one of the worst hauntings of all time, inspiring many movies, the most famous of which is of course "The Amityville Horror."
If you haven't seen it, the Lutz family moved in thinking they got a bargain on the property. Turns out, Ronald DeFeo had killed his family in the house so no one wanted it. The Lutz family reported a lot of wackiness and managed to live there for a whole 28 days before packing it up and leaving forever. The first movie is supposedly pretty accurate to what the real life Lutzes reported as happening.
