This is one key rule in PvP:


The only way to not get hate mail is to stand there and die.

Other things about SMS:

-It blocks ALL damage types...not just magic.

-This also includes pyros, miracles, and elemental weapons...thats right.

-It reduces stamina drain, however when using on a weapon,the stamnia drain reduction will be significantly lower as compared to using on a shield, thereby preventing you from tanking as many hits.

-Any of the Homing/Homing Crystal Soulmass spells create the perfect diversion to cast Strong Magic Shield. You cast them for SMS only, if you get some damage out of it, then cool.

-SMS will not increase your attack damage, not even on a +5 Lightning Bonewheel Shield.

-It also reduces the damage you take from "partial paries"

-Last but not least...ITS %$#@ING AMAZING!!!, imo :affraid: ...
...but it only lasts 15 seconds.

PS-I dont think SMS on a BSS would have enough stamina reduction to fully absorb Pursuers AND a CSS, you might get hit with part of the CSS. However, if you used it on a Heater Shield you could absorb Pursuers and prolly 2 or 3 CSSes.

***EDIT***

You need 45 dex to see decrease in casting time with DB. There are no gains from 40-45. However, the maximum gain you can achieve with DB is 9%. Hardly worth it if you ask me.

They tend to be somewhat literate, just no capitals and no punctuation.
