Why I cannot put my signs on the floor?

Hello folks,

I have put my call signs on the floor already in Anor Londo.
But in very much places I can't do that.

e.g firelink shrine (next to the bonfire) or in the undead parish next to the tree rats. Neither in the sanctuary garden nor in the Oolacile Sanctuary.
I'm human (with 00 in the upper left) and I have tried both the white an the red soapstone!

EDIT.
Even in Anor Londo it doesn't work anymore!
What is here wrong? I'm also online, I have just checked!

What else do I need? I have the two soapstones (red , white). And I already was able to put my sign on the floor!

Problem solved!

frequency of the monitor somehow wasn't ok. I restartet the PC and now everything is ok. I also see a all the messages form other players on the floor!

Happens to me sometimes when someone tries to invade but it doesn't connect for some reason, bonfire stays out and neither Soap Stone can be used.
Try quitting and reloading your game...

are there locations where it isn't possible to drop your sign at all?

At the moment I'm in the Oolacile Sanctuary and th Royal Woods. Here is seems not to work, right?

you dont have to be human to drop a coop summon sign (the white one). if u want to drop a red summon sign, in order to be summoned as a red phantom or as a enemy u have to be human.
u can't place the summon sign in any area/place/spot..... just equip it in your item menu, if it looks somewhat faded then it means u can't use it at exact the spot where u are atm. equip it and run around and you will see that the sign gets faded where it cant be used. oolacille mausoleum is pretty sure a place where it can't be dropped, just like firelink shrine.

You can't drop anything at Firelink Shrine, Oolacile Sanctuary, Darkroot Basin, Crystal Cave, The Great Hollow and Ash Lake(someone correct me if I missed something).

Why it is that the red sign invading (or is it summoning?) fails so often?

What happens:
I'm in Oolacile township and suddenly the gate back to the Knight Artorias battlefield arena becomes locked up by fog and the bonfire isn't working anymore.
I watch for red signs (in fact I look forward to fighting a thrilling fight). After a few moments (or after some minutes) I really see a red sign. I touch this and nothing happens. After a relatively long time (appr. 1 minute) a message pops up that reads something like "summoning failed"

Unfortunately the matchmaking system in DkS isn't exactly the best, so you might not connect with others as often as you want.

Micha that happens alot on PC, don't worry about it.
