Anastacia of Astora - The Fire Keeper

So I thought this was kind of strange...

I decided to go talk to Anastasia for the heck of it, you know, see what she's up to and how she's been.

Now, I've already killed Luatrec and retrieved her soul and what not. I
talked to her after that everything. Well, when I went and talked to her
again, she was talking about how she can finally die as a Human and for
me to "save us all".

Now, I haven't heard these lines before, but what really got me was this next part...

You know how when you're being invaded or summoned, the bonfire will
"turn off"? You know that sound it makes when it lights back up?
After I was done talking to Anastacia I heard the bonfire come back on.
Now, let me say this again, I was already way past the part where you
retrieve her soul and bring her back. Now, after I was done talking to
her and I heard that sound, I went up to the bonfire and saw that it was
really big. I rested at the bonfire and now it's giving me 20 Flasks,
instead of just 10.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yup, that's when you talk to Kaathe and chose to become the Dark Lord.

I'm not sure about the 20 flasks part, but I'm pretty sure she says something new after key points in the game. I can't remember exactly which points, but I believe some are (as Gol mentioned) after you decide to align with Frampt/Kaathe, as well as after you defeat each boss who possesses a lord soul.

What do you mean align with Frampt/Kaathe?

I haven't beaten the game on this character. I still have to kill Nito before I can get to Lord Gwyn. And Kaathe is the only serpent thing like Frampt right? I haven't even talked or seen that one before.

By align I basically mean the one you talk to first after obtaining the Lordvessel. Each will give you an exposition dump on the plot, followed by asking something along the lines of "do you accept this task," where most players just answer yes. Whichever one you say "yes" to is the one you align with. All this really changes gameplay wise is that whichever one you align with will stick around, while the other will disappear for the rest of the playthrough.

Each time it happened to me was when I "joined" Kaathe.
I always thought it was because of that.

I've only killed Seath, The Bed of Chaos, and Four Kings. I have yet to kill Nito.

Can anyone back me up on this 20 flasks thing?

It doesnt matter who you sided. When you put the Lordvessel and go back to firelink and talkto her she will said that. She even says that shes glad that you are going to link the fire even if you have sided with Kaathe. You'll see, I wont spoil. About the 20 flasks, that happened in my playthrough too. She gets super exited that you are going to save the world and her bonfire explodes.

Edit: On your next playthrough, after getting the Lordvessel from Gwynevere dont speak to Frampt just ignore him. Then go to New Londo and go for the Four Kings. You can add me if you need help defeating that bastard. Soul Level 120.

Also, since we're kind of on this discussion on what people say, I'm also assuming you guys have heard Reah talk about how she doesn't want to go down to the bonfire with the others (or something like that) when she's at the church in Undead Burg?

Yes, she's antisocial, and I sucked 12 humanity from her. Mmmmmm....

I don't suppose anyone has tried to uhh...clear out the bonfire, have they?

Seeing as she talks about being able to die as a human, has anyone tried to use Wrath of the Gods to take her out?

I have tested it now and she doesnt die. The only way to kill her is via Lautrec.

You don't have to join darkwraiths or place the lordvessel via kaathe

Uh, I think I missed this. I'm always trying to get more story from the NPCs but have discovered more than a few things from this site I've missed. Add this to them. Hopefully I can figure out how to do it.
