Dark Souls 2 Collectors Edition apparently comes with a chess set....

Please...please let this be real...I play a crap ton of chess in real life....I would use this as my new standard board...

Shoot I haven't played chess in so long, but I would love this. Speaking of collector's edition, I definitely need to buy it for DkSII. I didn't for DkS and I feel like i missed out.

I would love it, but it seems fake to me. It's just my opinion

I've had a conversation with the actual sculptor (extremely cool guy btw). He is indeed making these chess pieces, and he worked with Namco on Dark Souls art (many of their promo photos were actual pictures of his sculptures).

I'm not sure what he's doing for Dark Souls II.

Sounds great although I haven't played chess in years. Does anyone know if there'll be another art book because I loved the one that came with Dark Souls

I recognise some of those items... They were limited edition things for winning some competition a while back...

i was debating a preorder/special edition this time, last time even though it didnt cost any extra we really got ripped off. they changed the offer long after remember? still amazing stuff for no extra cost but i felt lied to all the same.

bump. im still hoping for this. this would be the first special edition preorder i'd ever done. i've done preorder before, only a few and only for bonus content sake (hate the market for it but fall pray to it sometimes) but i've never wanted to shell out the $120 it can cost sometimes for the 'collectors' edition with the random odd extra. a few were tempting. but this is a no brainer. only downside is i like my chess set now, and this could very easily outshine it.

march needs to get here...although first Christmas must pass and then i'll be very poor again.

I'll get it if I can afford it and find it over here in Canada. Haven't played chess in 20 yrs but it would be nice to have something awesome instead of JUST a game lol

I`ve never played chess before but i might as well learn with a Dark Souls 2 themed chess set haha, i thought it would be cool if the collectors edition came with a life size replica bonfire complete with sounds and glow. I picture my nerdy self doing homework on the floor around a Dark Souls bonfire.

It's not metal sculpting. I've bought a few of his busts and it's definitely not made with metal.

It's probably moulded plastic- same stuff as they use with warhammer models

so.....is this not an option? i've seen the newest option, with the collectors edition and a map/artbook/soundtrack/figurine. but as cool as all that is, and as willing as i am to buy it.

i was excited for a chess set. and am still willing to pay for it, as a collectors edition option. google search showed nothing, actually...this thread is one of the first results. funny, but dissapointing because i'd like to know before i preorder one version and another special edition comes out.

i sure hope its not a contest. that was a horrible promotion. so many fans, and what...5 rewards. 

no. those ideas are always horrible. let me pay for it. make it a contest ALSO, sure. but not exclusively.

i'd rather a chess set over the figurine too. i'd be willing to pay more to obviously. maybe make a chess set a third tier edition. the 'humanity intact collectors edition'
