To me the LOL factor would more than make up for lost souls and humanity. I sent a guy (who wasn't hacking, but ganking and trying very hard) a thank you note for running and disconnecting after it got down to me and him. And I meant it. I had a pretty good laugh. It was clear I had won, so to me I got a win and a laugh. You can't beat that with a stick. Tell guys like that 'thanks for the laugh, but you should probably stop hacking.'

It's funny because you don't always expect a hacker to get frustrated enough to disconnect but then they do and that there is good comedy.

Just message them back to why they disconnected, while pointing out you knew they were a hacker. I guarantee there will be no response.

I tried that once with what I thought was a hacker. Giant Dragonslayer wielding Artorias shield turtle. Once I saw that fast dodge I went "huh"? Turns out he told me to go on youtube "crybaby". ****** and I asked nicely too.
