Dark Souls 2 news coming April 11th?

Gametrailers posted a new video outlining some things they don't want to see changed in Dark Souls 2:

All good points, all of which have been discussed at length in the forum already.

Curiously, they announced another video for April 11th near the end... "Come back to Gametrailers April 11th for Dark Souls 2".

Is a big announcement/reveal on the way?

Gotta love that last line before the tease: "This isn't just a game. This is Dark Souls".

Seems the guys at Gametrailers really get this series like we here on the forum do.

I don't think they're talking RELEASE date, I just think that we're going to get gameplay or an extended preview over at Gametrailers next Thursday.

Thursday April 11th is when GT is hinting at revealing more news. There is no Thursday April 11th in 2014, so it must be 1 week from today.

Considering the nature of GameTrailers, odds are it'll be a new trailer. No guarantees.

We know Dark Souls II will be available for this generation of consoles. We know the next gen will come out in November or December this year. It makes sense that Dark Souls II will be released before or soon after the new generation comes out. So it's reasonably safe to assume we'll see Dark Souls II this year or very, very early next year. Most games announce their release date 6-12 months before release. I think Gametrailers will tell us the release date, or more likely a general idea. Q4 2013, for example.

We know the Souls games are serious. Dark. Cold, so to speak. The kind of games that are released in the winter. Demon's Souls was released in February (Japan), then October (NA). Dark Souls was released late September (Japan), then October (elsewhere). I think Dark Souls II's release date will fall within this range; October 2013-February 2014.

Hmmm hard to figure what 4/11 will bring. Seeing as this vid Talks to the developers, hard to see that 4/11 is gonna bring much to light. Maybe a trailer tease?

Personally, I'd put the SK Archers at #2 and the Community at #1 (i.e. griefers/gankers), but that's just me... Ornstein and Smough aren't much of a fight for me anymore.

Dec 31 a placeholder date. Says the same on Amazon and Wal-Mart.
