Agreed on Ocarina, but never been a Pokemon fan myself. 2 games does not a great year make I am afraid, no matter how good they were. Sheer volume of great titles this year is astounding.

those 2 games have defined the way games are today, its not like the games themselves are the success it is what they led to

how did pokemon redefined gaming? I think that's pretty funny, they basically copied dragon quest. Zelda maybe but not pokemon.

Am I the only person who sees Mario and Zelda as the casual version of CoD?They have so many games,I laugh at the fools who buy every one.Add Pokemon to that list too.

I think I'm just too old, many people on here probably weren't even gaming in '98.

Ummm......some of us were around for the days of Atari 2600 and intellivision;)

Lots of good JRPGs out in 2013 looking back on that list. Ni No Kuni is the best one I have ever played. Some day I will tackle Xenoblade Chronicles so I can compare it to that.

Atari was so awesome, i played cops n robbers for years, such an awesome game, pitfall too and there's one i don't remember the name of, its just you jumping on white moving tiles, kinda like frogger. but cops n robbers was definitely my favorite.

i wish i could play xenoblade but after their last series(which imo was garbage) im not sure.

after talking about those games I decided to look them up again and the name of the game I was talking about is frostbite! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRqCbifUaD0 all the games he showed I loved so much when I was little.

Heist was my favorite 2600 game. It was actually Colecovision, but could be played on the 2600 as they were interchangeable. Wish I could find a port of that game! I liked adventure and Haunted House too.
