    Heheh, good luck with that. On my own sl 1 run I did kill Ornstein first. Smough went down nicely with a crossbow.

    Most of the times i died, it was because Ornstein tried to do his flying attack (because let's face it, he does fly), and was stuck behind Smough and a pillar/wall, and then, suddenly, smough dodges sideways and Ornstein launches forward at full speed instantly

    Other times were just basic ganking tactics, less ******** than this ^


    Now i'm at Artorias, any weapon/armor suggestions?

    I'm currently doing a SL1 run on XBL. I found that the better weapons and armor are the better you'll do, this means you'll need to do a lot of farming. I farmed those damn slugs in blightown for 2 hours and only got 5 green shards with 410 item discovery. I had tons of large shard tho.

    I mainly run around with the crimson set on and try to save up to +5 them. You're souls are pretty much worthless for leveling up so every time you kill a boss take them to upgrade your gear. Even a +1 to shield or armor can help.

    Backstabs are really good because they give you a second to breathe when faced with mulitple enemies. I usually run around with havels ring and the FaP ring just so I can fast roll with my crimson robe and use the crown of dusk for boosting my pyromancies. The Crest shield for the magic damage reduction. I mainly run around with the combustion pyromancies or the orbs for crowds. I don't use PW because I only have one pyro glove and it's needed to help kill bosses. I have it ascended +2 and it seems to be working fine for me at that level.

    Sometimes I found just running past problematic enemies to be the best solution. The bonewheel guys are a good example of this. Maybe lure a few and combust the crap out of them.

    All of that is really nice but...how do i beat Artorias?

    I have the choice between RTSR and no room for error
    Or fapring and 20min long fight

    Which one is the least frustrating?

    With my experience, I would go for the RTSR option. You're pretty much dead in 2 hits anyway, if you can dodge will, that'll speed it up to no end.

    Done, thanks Renegade, i'm starting to think fapring isn't useful at all at sl1

    Does anyone know if there is a way to keep health at constant level with PW?

    There's always the sanctus, since PW works on a percentage basis you should be ok with that at sl1

    Doesn't Sanctus require 18 faith for the aura though, or are equip buffs always present regardless of stat requirements?

    assuming that you're playing a pyromancer and elementals dont suck too much in hypermode

    cursing yourself+ dusk ring should put your health to 143,25
    power within drains 1% per second from your max health: 1,4325
    sanctus on your back heals you for 0,9850hp/s according to the wiki

    total livedrain per second: 0,4475

    --> 143,25/0,4475= 320,11173... seconds = 5mins and 20+- seconds and the last 64 seconds would activate the RTSR (eventually you could consider to join the dragon convenant if you can affort 30 dragon scales for the roar buff)

    small adjustments to your health could be made with dung piles/toxic/poison/whatever hurts you.

    i hope the dusk+curse thing is right....never tried that myself actually...

    Is it possible to have 98.5 max HP? that would make it constant

    I think i'm going to progress steadily from now on until the end of the game (save for manus)
    Do non respawning BKs always drop chunks?

    nope, the lowest you can get is 132,5hp (hp drain: 0,34) with the sorcerer starting class,
    which would increase your total battle time from 320 seconds to 389 seconds but
    that would defeat the purpose of your sl1 run

    AFAIK the non respawning black knights are the same as their respawning brothers--> they always drop chunks, at least they never didnt drop anything for me

    When he lifts any tail, get the hell away. That means he'll slam them all, and most likely kill you. Just a little hint that helped me.

    They don't hit directly in front of him, i'm much more concerned by the straight lazor, and short ranged crescent shaped lazor, i can evade the other two, and i can block his slap

    I just finished my SL 1 run last night. I then summoned some guys in NG+ burg and laughed as they got cut down by the hollows. Then karma bit me in the rear, as I got killed by an invader and then fell off a ledge before I could grab my bloodstain.

    If they don't know it's NG+ or above they don't stand a chance (unless tbey happen to be paying attention to the souls they get from the initial mob they hopefully kill.) Those guys you're laughing at might be better players than you are for all you know.
    I summon in The Burg on my challenge character, but I always quick msg the phantom whichever NG+ I'm on.

    If they're better players than me, they shouldn't have much trouble unless charge into a group of hollows thinking they can tank it (which is what actually happened of course). Actually, if they blindly charge into a group like that, then by definition they're not better than me. I'm not saying I'm a great player or anything, because I'm not, but the Burg is a joke to any half-decent player, even at low SL and in NG+.

    Once I was doing Burg co-op at SL 10 in order to join the Sunbros. I got summoned to a world and immediately noticed that it must be NG+ or higher based on the first guys I fought. I eventually died to Havel, then learned from the host that it was NG+5. But I didn't have problems clearing the earlier part of the Burg.

    Nonsense. I've done it myself. My sl6 does Burg co-op for a long time each playthrough, and I got summoned into an NG+ and got a quick 2-hit before I even realized it. Maybe he was laughing at me, yet my guy was on NG+7 a the time, so even WITH warning he probably wouldn't have survived my Burg.

    Well the way I see it, if you're in NG+7, get summoned to a lower world, and get killed because you rushed in when you shouldn't have, that's not the host's fault.
