I wasn't laughing at them to feel better. I laughed because the way they died looked funny, in the way Emarrel's video in which she summoned low levels to NG+8 looked funny.

I remember doing this fight. Not to brag, but I didn't find it that hard.
What I used was the Crown of Dusk, with Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring and Darkmoon Seance Ring. I used Great Combustion, Black Flame, and Great Fireball, and a Reinforced Club, with Lightning +5. Just dodging and blocking with the Crest Shield +5 is what I did. Rolling under some attacks, such as the wider range sweeping ones will be more successful than trying to roll away from them. The diagonal slashes are better to be rolled away from, and the grab is better for sprinting the hell away from.
Just some advice, I don't know if it will help, but I hope it does.

2 separate times. (I forgot to mention that, was trying to see which one was best at the time)
I found that the Darkmoon ring worked best. 3 spells are better than 2 for this.

BTW, what i did is attune Power Within on the third spell slot, and then unequip it, that way i ended up with BDCR , Great Combustion, and Black Flame, it was pretty easy afterwards
Now Manus, and Kalameet, what annoys me most on Manus is how long it takes to retry

Manus for me was a pain, but kalameet trolled me, their were times he would killed me within seconds other times he would let me get him down to one hit then do something unexpected and oneshot me.
But i got the last laugh

Still stuck, I got Manus down to half health once, and i expect it will only boil down to patience.
But Kalameet, i can never land more than 2 hits, and he keeps killing me with a tail swipe
I go hyper ninja for both, should i change strategy?

I ended my SL1 months ago, It was without NPC/human help for the sake of challenge hehehe
On NG+ I summon people when available (mainly on first bosses because SL), the best moment was when I saw a summon sign on NG+ manus, and it failed to summon lol
For me, Kalameeth was a lot easier than Manus (wait for manus fight on NG+ hehehe)....
Kalameeth got a attack that always hit you when you is closer, even if you do a perfect dodge, because him traps you between boss head and tail (unless that two dodges in-a-row avoid that, too not tested with DWGR)
On Manus, I'll go to RTSR for speedup things (if you got no more patience after lots of deaths lol), second slot can be bellowing dragon for pyro boost, or anything more (seance ring, DWGR as suggested and etc...)
First time that I beat manus on SL1, I was with FAP/RTSR/BDCR, as you can see on video, I changed RTSR with BDCR after hit him sometimes with weapon, since another slot was stucked with FAP...
Maybe without FAP you die with all manus attacks, because with FAP, I'am sure that some manus attacks can't kill you (possible distance from boss arm and etc...)!
Please note that, on video, I didn't knew RTSR boost magic/pyro too!
Iam currenlty at NG++, probabbly I'll remove FAP ring and put a different ring, because in lots of boss fights I was anoyed with stucked FAP, avoiding me from use another ring, according the situation
The hardest boss for me at SL1 was O&S no doubt...
On NG+, you can wait a hard fight with manus!
