    Is this about right? I`m using CMW with Iaito oder maybe a different weapon (thus the 16 Str).

    What exactly is the difference between a buffed weapon (through GMW or CMW) and a Magic/Enchanted/Divine/Occult weapon for an Int build?

    Buffed is always stronger than a stand alone weapon, the downside is they eventually run out and go back to regular +15's, so a common tactic is to carry your main to-be-buffed wep and a secondary backup elemental or enchanted one incase that runs out.

    For the build personally I'd take Vit down to 40 (not much HP after 40 anyway). Use the extra points to bring stamina up to 40, and toss in 12 attunement for the heal miracle. Grab yourself a velka's talisman and bam, instant heal miracle scaling off intelligence all at SL 124.

    Your build it's okay but I wouldn't leave endurance at 35 and put 50 to vit. Put 40 to both, and put those five in att, unless you feel you don't need more spell slots, if that's the case put those five in vit a leave it a 45

    you may want to look at dex as it increases your casting speed.

    As far as I know, it only decreases casting time at 35-45 dex and has the best effect on pyromancy.

    A few things here.

    1) Take 6 from Vit and get Int to 50, this will maximize the effectiveness of Logan's catalyst and you'll still have plenty of Vit
    2) 35 End should be PLENTY as casting doesn't use End, you could easily drop that down to 30 if you wanted to put it in another stat or be a SL120 instead of 125.
    3) You're attunement is perfect IMO, 6 spell slots is more than enough to double up your 3 favorite spells.
    4) Don't invest in Dex for higher spell casting unless you're going to 40-45, since you're not, I'd suggest having just enough dex to wield your secondary weapon

    What should be the minimum Vit/End for a pure mage and a cmw mage respectively?

    For a 'pure' mage, End is not necessary at all, but it's one dimensional and easily countered.

    For a CMW mage, assuming you'll use other spells at your disposal, I'd say that 35 vit and 25 end should be your 'minimum' though like I said before, I'd go with 40 vit and 30 End. You really don't need to maximize End, though I know many melee only characters would disagree.

    For my battle mage I dual wield Logan's in my left and Velka's in the right (can't buff Velka's) and have the option to two hand my Lightning Claymore in case I come across a backstabber. I like having all 6 slots usable for offensive spells and don't utilize buffs.

    The rest I agree on. Some of it is rather personal preferences, so it can be tweaked by each player (number of attunment slots, whether or not you're going Int/ Dex hybrid, etc).

    Pure Mage:

    Min Vit: 30, but more is not discouraged
    Min End: 0

    Pure Mages don't need End! At all. They don't really need Vit either, for that matter, since you're just supposed to avoid getting hit at all costs and keep the fight ranged, but having some doesn't hurt!

    "CMW Mage" (Hybrid Int/ Dex or Str/ Dex, I'm assuming):

    Min Vit: 30
    Min End: 30

    Hybrid mages have a lot of stats to invest in, so spending too many points in Vit and End will limit your effectiveness. Those are the minimum I would recommend. 30 End isn't a bad amount of stamina at all for someone who wants to do some melee.

    Ah, no problem! winking It's a fair assumption anyway, since PvP mages usually go for TCC. But with only 6 attunment slots, I'd definitely stick to Logan's.

    Yeah I tried TCC but the increase in damage isn`t worth half my spells.

    tcc for pvp, logans for pve. normally INT 50 because I actually use white dragon breath in both pve and pvp. I cap dex in what weapon I use, in my main mage is Velka's (can't remember how much dex right now), not too much END because I use light equipment, and 40 vit. rings would be wolf and Bellowing dragoncrest

    I use logan's until I finish up NG++ at which point I'll switch to TCC and have 3 of each CSS and HCSM for 6 and 15 casts respectively. At that point I'll see if it's worth it. I got 50 int to use white dragon breath and have been severely disappointed w/it. The casting time is sooooo slow and the damage is less than regular SS.

    so unless you are planning on using the dragon breath, there's no real reason go to 50 int?btw, sorry about all of the questions, this is my first int/ dex based toon.

    Really? That magic does more damage for me than any other. We have something diferent on equipment, because for me its very effective

    If you're going for a hybrid then I'd recommend Logan's. That way you can cap off your Int at 45, and you'll require less attunment slots than if you were to go with the TCC, so you'll save in that stat as well.

    I like to use TCC on my pure-Mage build. But this one has 50 Att, so I can afford to halve my number of castings! Also has 50 Int, so if it were to be a hybrid build I'd probably have 20 Vit! Definitely not enough for PvP.

    But like Carphil said, for PvE, Logan's is the best choice.

    @Carphil

    Why not Ring of Favor instead of Ring of Poise? The boost to stamina would be good, since you have low End (which I totally agree with; a mage doesn't need End). The extra equip weight could help too, and more health is always nice! I just feel like 40 poise, by itself, isn't justification enough for a ring slot. I like it to complement an incomplete armor set (havel's gloves and legs + Ring of poise, for example = 96 poise for only 23 equip weight). But 40 poise by itself, to me, isn't as good as what you'd get from the RoFP.

    save yourself the stats on faith and an attunement slot for any mage build and use your humanity and spend the points elsewhere. Humanity heals way faster and fully and also adds to your phys def but I think it caps off or gets diminishing returns early since my grant build sl 135 with fully upgraded leeroy set has 371 w/o 99 humanity and 403 with 99 humanity. There was a thread explaining the humanity scaling but that was in the old forums not sure if it was archived or whatever.

    I didn't realize he was still going for the heal miracle... Definitely go for Humanity instead, yes!

    About humanity defense bonus: each humanity will give you the same amount of defense you would gain from raising your SL by a level. That's why it gets diminishing returns too. My SL30 character gets 89 defense bonus from 99 humanity (same defense he would have at SL129), compared to your SL135 character who gets 32 (defense you would have at SL234).
