Large Club, my new favorite!

Holy crap is this weapon amazing, I'm slowly falling in love with it. I was watching a stream a while back and seen them ( i forget who i was watching) destroying everyone they came in contact with. They had been using the large club. I was rather surprised, because i was always shy when it came to strength builds. I knew they could hit hard, but are rather slow and risky in fights; but not the large club. The 1h strong attack can dead angle like no other, and the rolling 2h attack can catch a lot of people off guard. I'm having a lot of fun with the weapon and i was wondering if anybody else shared my recent affection for this hunk of timber?

str weapons are for noobs! go with the claymore.

I'm weird and prefer the great club. For small AR boost, more reach, extra manliness and because i never really found a good use for the large club 1h r2.

Does the Great Club have a similar move set? I've never touched the thing.

the only difference is the r2, both 1h and 2h.

R2s are different and pretty much useless. A lot of people like the large club because of the poison effect and the one-handed strong attack. Test them both and decide yourself.

I'll try it out, I'm not sure I want to give up my 1H R2 on the large club.

http://mmdks.com/1lyh one may be under the impression that i only hype this one build of mine but it's just that AWESOME! by far my favorite weapon combination, the jagged ghost blade is such a great tool: parry, backstab prevention, finishing off the last bit of health. coupled with all the good things you already realised about the large club you have a real toptier char imo. hp, poise, def values on this guy also help of course. i went 20+W/<5L in my last sitting with this setup in the burg. one last trick: forward R2 has incredible range, great to make pancakes out of the clever runaway bow jokers.

Ditto. Plus if you buff the GC +15 with fire resin, it looks amazing and holds aggro in free range coop like nothing else. I've actually had invaders peel off from the host and chase me instead. I also hate farming the fatties, while the GC is a guaranteed item.

Fowl, I always go after club users first in an invasion because I don't want to eat a 1200 damage bs while I attack the host, and most club users either bring not enough poise or too much making them fat and slow.

Makes sense to me, I'd go after the GC guy too. The 2hd charge move is also pretty broken, it has a huge hitbox and an AOE stun even if you miss, so it's really easy to charge slam an invader if they are focused on someone else. You either kill them outright, or stagger them to get finished off by someone else. The things I've done to people in Anor Londo along those lines are illegal in 12 states.

I think the main reason I don't like the great club is because A LOT of gankers use it, I have been seeing the large club a lot more lately is though

it's because we're spreading the word! i also noticed an increase in large club users, people trying a fight with it at least. it's been really frustating to see a fellow great hammer user resort to hornet ring BS as the lone tactic in his repertoir =(

A majority of them do nothing but roll bs with str weapons, specially the large/great club, its really boring when you go up against one of those.
