Release Date Speculation Thread

I'm was discussing possible release dates for DkS2 with a friend a couple days ago and had the idea of creating this thread.

Before we begin speculating let's review some interesting facts:

1-Announcement and release of the previous games was:
DeS: Announced in Late 2008 - Released in Feb. 2009(JP)/Oct. 2009(NA)
DkS: Announced in Feb. 2011 - Released in Sep.2011(JP)/Oct.2011(NA)

2- The NA release of both previous Souls games was in October

3- By January 2013, DkS2 was roughly 25% complete

4- But it has a possibility to miss the 2013 release window


Now, assuming that DkS2 will make an appearance at E3, a release in October is very likely.

However if we only see some new DkS2 info on the TGS 2013, then it's safe to assume DkS2 will only release early 2014.

Let the speculation begin.

They haven't said anything about releasing it on the next generation consoles so I am going to assume that it will release before they do and I'm fairly sure they are coming out this holiday season.

I'd say october is a safe bet.
November is as well.

Also I'm fairly sure DkS released on November 11th to sort of shove it in skyrims face but I could be wrong.

no Dark souls came out in October also the dlc hit consoles in October the following year if I'm not mistaken

I was sure it was confirmed for this year?

I only hope the release won't crash with gta5, that would give me a big headache.

I think it's going to be in October too.

Presumably being released on current gen systems -> Next gen systems are coming out holiday season -> From would want to release it at least a little bit before the next gen systems are out.

There's also the consistency of Souls games being released in October.

I would really like an October release, but personally I think it will be released in early 2014. February perhaps.

Gametrailers.com has the release date for 28th of October 2013 and to me it sounds more than believeable.
If they seriously release the game any later than that, they will be stomped by the next gen console hassle.

Gametrailers lists dark souls 2 release date as being 10/29/2013.(They changed it from 28/10/2013 some time after the despair trailer).

While it could be just a placeholder, it seems too random of a date to be one, and it matches and October-November trend. And likes Juutas said, they will probably try to launch it before next-gen arrives.
