Dont blame them, you're bringing lag to them too.

its the distance. i have just as many issues playing with people in london. its not their fualt, on their screen its legit. just takes getting used to thinking that extra step ahead and its not terrible for the most part.

Also remember that whenever you backstab them it most likely looks to them as if its a lagstab from a crazy angle.

Re: not til recently
I recently got lag stabbed jumping off the flight of stairs in that building in the forest. I was literally in mid air and the invader was hiding around that corner door leading down to the mushrooms. He hit me in the air and as I was falling my body went through the back stab animation. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen.

Re: not til recently
I hardly ever get backstabs, but almost every time I actually manage to get one it goes through the animation but gives no damage. fml

and the no damage thing is because people like me tag you with a hit as you bs so neither player takes damage. it takes some timing but it works great for stuffing fishermen.

i had a guy invading at the begining near the taraus demon wearing giants armor. i was wearing the hornets ring i bs'd him but for some reason i didnt kick him to the ground he took damage but while i was still in animation mode he circled me waited and bs'd/ killed me. do you guys know if this was because his poise with giants armor or a glitch of somesort or what?

Re: not til recently
I try to use weapons with a sweeping arc, like claymores or the Moonlight Greatsword so that I can keep my angles wide when I attack. Either that, or I go with high mobility and fast strike weapons like katanas to avoid ever getting into the backstab dance.

Re: not til recently
yeah but most of the users are sloppy and easy to parry. its in, swing, out, repeat. just parry when they close the distance to poke. the washing pole r1 spammers are even easier. block parry or block block parry. what you have to watch for are the dancers. the ones that roll around like sonic the hedgehog but are always within attack range. given half a chance they'll catch you with a bs or land 2 or 3 hits when you run out of stamina.
