Lati, you can try to train your reflexes by using those "click the button when it flashes" games, or a more practical approach could be any form of martial arts. Soris' suggestion is also a good one, you can try to train your reaction by just listening to the sounds around you and react to them by turning your head towards the sound, like a car driving by or birds chirping.

There's nowhere around here to learn Martial Arts.
On easy mode I can make it to Meta Knight in Samurai Kirby, but he always gets me.

Re: Random Off-Topic
Ultra parries are really weird.
Honestly, if I had to choose the hardest weapon to parry, I would say it would be an ult. gs.
Not because of the timing, but because of the fear factor. When I'm there in the moment, I second guess myself on the parry times, and I mess it up. It only makes it worse that I lose half my health should I mess up, and I'll literally be open for the kill if I miss the toggle-escape afterwards...

You be surprised I can keep up with ten conversations at once and I can hear really far. I hear so many stories at school.

I don't know how to toggle escape, so it's terrifying to fight them.Dibsville wrote:Ultra parries are really weird.

I've never even tried to parry Havel, for fear of goofign up on him.

Then Soris' suggestion is still a good one, and the reflex games are nice ones too.

Eh, I used to fear parrying Havel to until I parried the Black Knight guarding the Blue Tear. He was my first BK parry. Afterwards I was like "You know what, yolo." I went to the merchant, bought a Rapier, and parried Havel to death. It was actually pretty discouraging because he was so easy to parry...

I can only make it to King Dedede on Hard Mode, I have gotten better though because I matched Meta Knight's speed on Normal Mode.densetsushun wrote:Then Soris' suggestion is still a good one, and the reflex games are nice ones too.

Re: Random Off-Topic
When I parry I do this weird and hard to explain thing mentally. I kinda see the angle of the swing, the speed of it, and then it I can't explain it right and I just then parry and riposte right after.

I can parry Black Knights with swords, They have slow attacks that are telegraphed too easily.Dibsville wrote:Eh, I used to fear parrying Havel to until I parried the Black Knight guarding the Blue Tear. But that's about it, I can't parry fast enemies like painting guardians or Hollow Thieves.

I can parry everything nowadays, if I die because I missed a parry I normally quit out and delete the file.
Too much shame in my own skills.

I can't parry Sword Zombies.
They're attacks are so slow, I can never get them right.

I was raised to be a perfectionist, so whenever I can't do something perfectly, I always disregard it as being stupid or unimportant, only to try again once I'm not annoyed, and if I mess up once in 20 parries, I'll get annoyed and quit trying to parry.

Re: Random Off-Topic
The only reason I can parry things well is because I did a parry only run, I literally parried and partial parried my way through the game.
I can not tell you how many tries it took to kill Sif without dodging when my only defense was a partial parry.
I had 40 END on that build before I beat O&S because I needed all the stamina I could get...

Re: Random Off-Topic
It's a partial parry, you take reduced damage, and aren't staggered, but it doesn't allow ripostes, and the enemy isn't even stunned.
