Yes it works.
A lot of players go to level 120, so if you ever change your mind, keep in mind 50 int is most optimal.

I would go to 32 to use pursuers, 36 also works for Soul Spear, and 40 for optimal scaling on MLBH and MLGS.

I'd go to 32 for the option of using TCC to buff that weapon.
at 30 int CMW adds 277 damage. at 32 with TCC it adds 356. which is a pretty big increase for such small investment (2 points)

Yup, 32 INT is a good break point for a spell sword. You can always level up further if you want more scaling with your buff or access to soul spear. I don't think I would go to 50 INT unless I was a dedicated caster using the Moonlight Greatsword and Moonlight Butterhorn with only 16 STR and 10 DEX.
