A forum chatroom will definitely solve the problem of excessive spamming of the off-topic. Both the "Random-Off Topic" thread and the "Say someone about the person above you" thread has turned into chatrooms essentially. More so with the latter. Will give a chance for Lati and Dibs to obsess about the new member in the chat and not be flooding the thread with it.

Will we be allowed to also turn off the Chatroom as a sort of option, or will it be a link you have to use so it won't be at the top? Or will we just not autoconnect when we go to the home page and only see the chatter if we do connect? I'm just asking because I don't have a very good computer as is and the spam generally turns me off of sections of the forum so I don't really want to see it every time I access the homepage anyway.

IIRC if you log off the chat you can see the box but not the chatter.

And by the way, the same forum guidelines apply to the chat. Furthermore we can read the history so anything thst happens without mods around is still subject to guidelines up to and including banning.

Quick question, does this chatbox works on Chrome? I can remember if it did in the last event, but I remember having some troubles with Chrome and only working properly on Explorer

I tell you, nobody better get banned. If that happens, the chatroom will be gone, and likely won't come back. This will be a great addition. We can communicate much more efficiently now, especially for those who don't Skype.

We are finalizing the guidelines for the chat and how they will extend to the forums. There will be a connection between what happens in chat and standing in forum. When we are ready to launch we will announce the guidelines too.
