It's not just fear toast. It's anxiety, which isn't really the same thing. I bet you're pretty self-conscious too aren't you? When I used to have a lot of social anxiety it was because I was always so concerned about I was doing, or how I looked, or what people thought of me. There's a lot you can do to conquer that, but it'll pass with age too, because the older you get the less it'll matter to you what other people think of you. You'll just have too much to take care of that you won't have the time or energy to devote to it.
It shouldn't matter to you how likable other people think your personality is. If you enjoy yourself than that's all that matters. Their dislike doesn't change who you are unless you let it, and that just makes it their problem, not yours. Be confident in that and the rest will fall into place.
