It finally happened. People who genuinely bought a game can no longer play it due to DRM.

So here's the story I just found. Mind you, I've never played, or even heard of the game. It's the fact that one of the fears of gamers concerning questionable industry practices has become a reality. Maybe this has happened before and I haven't heard about it, but either way this is sad.

Well either one of two things will happen.

EA gives out refund, or EA loses lots of support.

I hate the idea of DRM, but as it will never go away I usually live with it... But sometimes I just give up.

The original spore held a record for a while for the most illegally downloaded game. something crazy like 100,000 downloads over the first weekend. It too had DRM, you'd think they'd have learned the lesson first time.

And frankly nothing surprises me with EA, twice when BF3 was out, they released new content and on the first night of the releases the servers crashed as they couldn't handle the load.

Bleh, EA... Defends themselves by saying they're not as bad as other big evil corporate companies..

How about instead of trying to be "not as bad" actually be a good company.

 MS dont care about Piracy, they just want to control their used games sales, same with any other company that enforces DRM, but tbh its the game devs fault if the game is lazily made and poor quality people are obviously going to trade it in DRM isnt going to change the fact that people wont buy horrible games.
