Funny, I just wear full havel's and don't even bother dodging. Even on NG+7, if you stand right next to them you'll take hardly any damage. Combined with the fact they attack once in a blue moon, you can flail away at them with a buffed falchion and take them down without too much trouble.

The difference is with Fast Roll I can attack more and end the fight faster.

Also, not every build has a buff to put on a Falchion. Better yet, not every build can even use a Falchion.

BETTER YET, unless you're a Vit gouge, you're NOT going to beat Four Kings on NG+7 with Havel's.

You're doing it wrong if you're getting further away from the kings for dodging.

Roll behind them, not away from them
