How do you delete your own account?

I think that if you wish to delete your Wiki account, you have to ask E, or Fex.
Now if you meant your Forum account, then this is the wrong subforum and the answer will probably be the same.

What happened that you want to be deleted?
Confessed to your crush and got rejected?

I'm just pulling your leg.

However, I've made the request and slept on it.

Being related to a Muslim oppressor was enough for me.  I don't need another nights sleep.

I've really enjoyed the company here, but its time to move on. My impression of the administrative staff is tainted, and do not wish to be a part of this community anymore.

However, I know myself.  I'll just keep logging on, and that taint will follow me in every post I make.  I don't want that for the people here I respect.

I understand what you're saying and understand that you wish to leave.
After almost a year in here, I still believe this is the best community on the whole internet. At least I never been in, saw, nor heard of another like this, nor better. As such, I think it's a waste to leave because of a dispute between members. Be them Admins, Mods, or regulars.

In the end, if you wish to leave, you can do that any time. There's no need to get your account and all the work you putted into this place deleted.

Looking at the thread which you took offence to, honestly I think you're overreacting- it's a heated debate so obviously the argument may say something to spur you.

However there was nothing actually insulting there. I'd say just leave the thread. Deleting your account just because of a spat is pointless.

However, this is the same mentality I have when I dump out the rest of the alcohol because I've had too much to drink.

I have a compulsive personality, and know when to nip a problem in the bud....most of the time.

Also, this wasn't work for me, it was just fun.

However, the fun ended when an admin made a comment about my personality/beliefs being akin the radical and ridiculous mentality certain Muslims have regarding the treatment of women and their place in society.

I do not believe in that mentality, I do not condone that mentality, and said nothing to warrant such a comment.  I said most women are better full-time parents than men when considering the whole.

I never said men cant do it, I never said a woman's place is in the home, or anything of the sort.

But why do you need to have your account deleted? You don't need to log back in if you don't want to.

My future posts will be nothing but troll comments. I don't like it, but that's the way it is. I have no shame in admitting weakness, and this is one of them.

People are far from perfect. You'll see that first hand if I stay. I think it would be best for everyone if the temptation is simply removed. I've made my request and politely as I know how, so please fulfill my request.

You can't delete your account. I don't think the admins are even able to delete your account. In the past, when someone has been banned, their account remained intact as well as their posts.

You haven't done anything to warrant a ban (as far as I know), but here's a suggestion if you really don't want to be on the forums.

1) Log out.

It's simple. It's not permanent. If you change your mind, you are welcome to return.

Animaaal, I'll of course miss ya. I see what you're saying about resisting temptation and, perhaps, not being able to. Which of course makes the ban (Bunny has it right, they don't/can't delete the account) more logical from your point of view. Simply logging out might not work for you. I'd also recommend a cooling off period as one of the points above is valid, admin or not, it's just one member and one spat. I teach positive relationships skills at work and the first thing I like to point out is that we're not in it for puppy dogs, rainbows and skittle fountains. Life ain't like that. One of my next points is that I don't expect that everyone will be BFFs or even like each other. Life ain't like that either. But as an employer, courtesy and professionalism are expectations. Now this isn't work but I think you see my point. One thing can ruin the fun for all of it for you.

But it doesn't have to.

So if you think you could use a break and not a goodbye here's what I'd recommend: Don't log off. Not just yet. Have your wife change your password then have HER log off. Then instruct her to wait two, three days....a week.....whatever you need before she can give you the new one.

I've contributed a lot to this forum, and do not see why my request is going unanswered.  I think with my contributions to this community, this is an appropriate "going away" present if requested as such.

Again, I am not confident in my long term behavior here, and think it would be best to simply part ways in this fashion as opposed to...well...something else.

And also, I have to talk to the bereaved on a weekly basis, and believe it or not, my social skills in person are top notch.

I understand when there's a time to cool down, a time to apologize, and a time to walk away.  I slept onit and cooled down, I don't need to apologize for anything (maybe the vaginas growing on trees thing), and see now its time to walk away.

I'm trying to do this the right way.  However, it will be done, right way or not.

Help me with the aforementioned, your forumers will appreciate it.

I'd like to say I really appreciate your attempt at expressing your view in your last PM and your to take your time to apologize for the previous one - it is very appreciated. I'm glad you've understood what was said now that you have calmed down.

I also understand you now feel uncomfortable so as Skare suggested, just take some time off, nobody is judging. You can change your password or whatever you wish.

Yeah, I saw your last post before it was edited... I'm glad you took that out. Anywho, I think you should just turn off your notifications and log out. If you want the "right way" to do it, that would be it. If you continue to make a fuss about it, sure you will probably get banned, but you'll also lose the respect of the friends you've made on the forums.

Goodbyes aren't easy as you surely know from your occupation. If it's that, goodbye and best wishes man. I think we each know where we stand with the other and you'll know it's a sincere best wishes for you and your family.

I was going to PM this but didn't for the sake of this second part. It's your call and only your call on what you want. I say this with respect even though it's a very black and white statement which can come across harsh but here goes: If you truly want the ban, this thread has accomplished what it sent out to. Give you information on the best method to permanently separate. I for one, consider myself done with this since it's obvious I would prefer a different outcome.

However, you're in the best position to choose what you want. If it's goodbye and not see you later, that's out of my hands. I am just a green after all. I'll let those decisions play out between the parties that it needs to happen with.

As you can see animal, noone wishes for you to leave. Just take some time off and/or stay away from threads you feel bad talking in. A bit of time off will sort things, there's nothing said on here I think that can't be forgiven. That counts for every member here, not just you.

I can see that you're already gone, but I want to post here anyway.  

I do appreciate the fact that you know your limitations.  You are afraid you will continue to get angrier and post things you will regret.  You are beyond many people - knowing when enough is enough.  I respect that.

Not everyone can get along.  At work, not everyone gets along with their boss.  But, they continue to function and work with them.  I feel this skill is paramount.  We will have bosses we will not like.  But, as long as they work for the good of the company (and not sabotaging it), we need to be able to work with them.  We often find that the majority of things are great, while only a minority are not.  

It can be hard to look past the bad things, because they seem to be on the forefront of our brain.  That's where taking a break comes in so well.  It allows you to calm down, unwind, cool that burn-out, and gives you something important.  It's called perspective.

Second point - never burn bridges.  I can't stress how critical this is.  Rage quitting is childish and generally a horrible idea.  Calm down, speak like a rational adult.  Don't be insulting, ever.

Like others said, take a little break. I was in a bad situation last month. Angry with people, upset with a couple mods, but I'm still here. I don't go in chat anymore but I pick n choose wut threads to post in.

@Aminal, I'm not remotely close to you, I am not close to any member of this forum (or any forum on the Internet). I wonder weither we even discussed anything here. But, imo, you may be taking things here too seriously. Sure, there may be good bounds to make here, and feeling oneself or someone else being insulted can deteriorate that. But, wherever you will go, there always will be good and bad things to happen. Most of the time, it's not even personnal and subject to missinterpretation. I don't know why you're feeling that way, but as Senty said, I still feel this place is one of the best you can find on the Internet.
