Magic User guide

I've put together a guide to creating a magic user as it seems to be something that frustrates a lot of people.

Just wondering if there might be a place for it on the wiki?

It's not really a PVP build thing, it's more for people who want to build an effective character for PVE but do it without the slog (and then I suppose build upon that for PVP)

Ahh ok, actually I forget about this, but we do have a PvE build section! Should be perfectly fine to create it on the wiki and add it in.

Yeah, I could post it there.Cheers . Not a perfect fit as it's not strictly a build it's more of a walkthrough type thing but it's probably the best place, thanks

Well I'm not sure exactly where a guide would go, we do have a guides section but not a user created one. Hold off on the PvE page and see if a user created guide section can be made, may not work but you don't know till you try right?

Give this thread a day for the Admins to take notice and if not you can send PMs out and ask that way. I wish you luck and play strong~

Can I give some suggestions as far as a 'magic users' guide?

IMO, magic users benefit more from being a sorcerer than a pyro. Once you beat the Asylum you can go to new londo and buy 30 more soul spears and get heavy soul spears. Once you get those you should be able to get to Capra Demon w/out being hit once. If you have the drake sword you should be able to beat Capra pretty easily as well, especially if you take out the dogs w/ the sword and Capra w/ magic. Once done w/ that you should be able to get pyro and rescue Griggs for even more spells like the great soul arrows and his rings.

Then, just take out the gaping dragon (I used him to fully upgrade my pyro hand) and move on to BT, which again, should be pretty easy since you can take out everybody from afar.

After BT the next thing to concentrate on is rescuing Logan and buying out his spells and defeating the Hydra to get the dusk crown.

Doing this makes the game SUPER easy. It's what I like to call the 'Royal' treatment from Demon's Souls.

The guide you have created is rather specific so I would recommend that you first create a page in the wiki with the name of your guide and paste the contents there.

Once you have the page, we can link it to several different sections:

1. FAQ
2. New Players Help
3. PvE builds (add link as bulletpoint before builds)
4. Walkthroughs (add as specific magic path)

Thats definitely another path you could take. If I went down evry avenue it'd be a whopper of a guide though. I'm not saying my way is the best way it's jsut one way I know works. Cheers for the input

Yeah, the guide is good but at a minimum pointing out that Rickert sells spells and a catalyst should be in there up front. Particularly if you're starting as a pyromancer, that should be the first place you head after hitting firelink, otherwise you'd play through several areas before getting any spells. All you do is go down the elevator and he's right there.

Thats a fair point. There is the spare attunement slot alright. I'll try and see if I can re-jig it.

My problem would be that you need those souls for levelling early on and soul arrow without the INT to back it up is kind of weedy.

I've created the page and added it to the PVE builds page as suggested. I wasn't sure where it would best fit in the FAQ and the other two pages I cant edit. If you could add it to those pages that would be brilliant. cheers
