Forum glitch or security issue?

This evening I have encountered a problem with the forum 3x. This problem has occurred before but it seemed to resolve and I wrote it off as a glitch. Now, I am a bit bothered.

The problem:

I am logged off the forum without my doing so, yet my forum name is still listed as logged on. I am unable to see the forum chat, and unable to post. The index page does not look like the "visitor" page.

I logged back on but then got logged off again within minutes. With the same situation as above.

I shut down my system while still "logged off" supposedly. When I booted back up and loaded my browser I was still logged off the forum yet my forum name was still listed as though I was logged on. Again, with the same situation stated above.

Is anyone else having a similar issue with the forum?

I have that sometimes, I think it's just the Forum being kinda slow and taking a bit to take your name off when you get off.

Although sometimes I stay logged on with my phone which, obviously, keeps me on.

Naw, that I can see. I am getting logged off automatically. Without any input from me. Yet my forum name remains as described above. Still could be a glitch. But I will need to rule out any security issues.

Are you telling the Forum to keep you logged in automatically?

The forum lists online for the past 30 minutes as "online"

Disconnects are most likely a cookies issue, they could be getting automatically removed by settings on private browsing or no history saving.

Sounds to me like you're browsing the forum from a PS3. If that's the case I got that a lot as well before I got my netbook pc. If you have 2 separate accounts that you log online with, the system itself resets everything as if you had logged off the site. It's not a forum thing it's an actual console thing.

Nope, forum cookies are preserved, history is saved and not modified until shut-down (auto mode) and then only in limited and specific scope. Yes, I have auto login engaged.
Could be a "ghost in the machine", so to speak (aka: glitch). One thing I forgot to mention was the browsing lag encountered on this site only when it happens.

Ran all my security and went through my firewall (Outpost Firewall Pro) logs...clean. There are a few other things I can do but I will have to wait until it happens again. As it stands right now...all seems fine.

The only other thing that I can think is you have removed the tick for staying logged in:

If that is not the case then you may want to clear your browser cache and such as there may be conflicting cookies. I haven't had reports of other users with this problem so the first instance is to assume it's a local setting.

I did all the basic troubleshoot stuff right off. As you said, if no one else has reported this I (too) would assume it's on my end. I layer my own security maybe there is an issue there since I did add another program recently. Sometimes they don't always play nice together and odd quirks can arise. I dunno...

Well unless someone else comes forward with the same issue so I can try and find something linking or bring the problem to forumotion, we may be stuck troubleshooting your end. I did some google searches but nothing of note came up

Your attention to this is much appreciated, Fex. As is all your efforts and the efforts of your team to keep this forum and wiki smooth, seamless and fruitful.

I'll let you know if I learn anything.

Another glitch I've noticed is that everything we type is italicized. That is just recently of course.
EDIT: It seemed to happen in the Off Topic section of the forums. Specifically the Ask anyone a reasonable question thread.
