Re: Parameter Bonuses
From worst to best: E, D, C, B, A, S
It just means how well a weapon scales to its corresponding stat.
For example, take a look at the Channeler's Trident it scales E, C, B, -
This means that it scales poorly with Strength, acceptably with Dexterity, above average with Intelligence, and does not get any sort of scaling bonus from Faith.
So, if you had this weapon and you wanted to build up your character to maximize this weapon's potential you would need to level your Intelligence, with some Dexterity sprinkled in.
Welcome to the Forums BTW

Re: Parameter Bonuses
Yes S is the best bonus you can get for a stat

Re: Parameter Bonuses
Here you are, this calculator helps. http://mmdks.com/4jee
In the example I have set up for you I have the Gravelord Sword and the Moonlight Greatsword. The Gravelord scales E/E in Strength/DEX while the MLGS has no scaling other than its S rating to Intelligence.
Play around with the Intelligence, Strength, and Dexterity stats and see how the little number above each weapon changes.

Re: Parameter Bonuses
ok I will thanx again BTW because I spent hours taking off Enchantment from my weapon and putting in Divine on it thinking that I would get way better results because I have 45 Int. and 25 Faith on the sorcerer and ended up weaker so short story did a lot ......... a lot of farming for mats to fix it before I was able to go to the Crystal Forest

Re: Parameter Bonuses
Why has no one mentioned this yet?
We have the numbers available for parameter bonuses.
ExtraDamage = ( BaseDamage × Scaling ) × StatRating
AttackRating = BaseDamage × ( 1 + Scaling × StatRating )
Low High
S 140% 200%
A 100% 139%
B 75% 99%
C 50% 74%
D 25% 49%
E 1% 24%
Each weapon gets a BonusRating. These are displayed as letters (S-E), where each letter represents a range. The range is pretty wide, so two weapons with the same letter may not actually get the same scaling.

Re: Parameter Bonuses
I should add that not all scaling bonuses are created equal. Just because two weapons have the same letter doesn't mean they'll get the same scaling. For example, a +15 black bow of pharis does 347% of its base damage with 50 dex, while a +15 demon's greataxe only does 231% of its base damage at 50 str. On the other hand, a +5 moonlight greatsword does a measly 200% of its base damage at 50 int. As you can see, the BBoP gets much better scaling than the DGA or MLGS, despite them all having an S scaling in their respective stats.
(I know scaling has a soft cap at 40, but you can't 1-hand the DGA with 40 str so I went with 50 instead).
EDIT: Just noticed Soul of stray demon already said this. Still, S scaling can go way beyond 200% as i've just shown.

Re: Parameter Bonuses
2.4983713355. 767, max AR of the Crystal Demon Greataxe with 99 str, divided by 307, the base damage of the Crystal Demon Greataxe.
Which would make the actual highest percentage possible almost 250%.
Although what I had offered was a more simplified view at it, that didn't take into account other variables like diminishing returns or a perfect view at actual scaling. It was just an attempt to be more understandable, and save me from actually doing work.

Re: Parameter Bonuses
Or instead of confusing the OP, you guys could just say the following: What Shakie and Stray said is true, not every S is created equal just like not every E is created equal, but you don't need to know all these numbers to know that.
Unless you're color blind, the game offers a very handy explanation of that. Say you have two weapons scaling to the same stat with an A, if you equip one and then go to toggle display to compare to another weapon, that weapon's A will either turn up blue if it is a stronger A, red if it is a weaker A, or stay white if it is of the same scaling properties.
