Out of curiousity, has anyone actually successfully used a dual wield character? I'm on my 2nd play through and I'm trying to use a more Assassin/Ninja type character, and dual wielding seems like it would be a cool character to use for that type (especially with a parrying dagger), but I don't think I've ever seen someone use a dual wield character and haven't read any character builds in regards to it. Has anyone made a successful one? Thanks.

Re: Dual wielding?
I dual weilded katanas on my ninja build. It was good for parries, and catching your opponent off guard. I also used dual axes on my viking build. So much fun

Re: Dual wielding?
The most pain in the *** Dual wielding setup was a Spear in your Right and a Shotel in your left with heavy armor. Try to block the spear? Bam, shotel. Try to run away? Bam, spear. you are vulnerable to arrows but slot #2 is there for a reason.

Re: Dual wielding?
I always dual wield! Most of the time it's melee weapon in right hand and catalyst/ talisman in left. I also love pyro glove in right and catalyst in left. For melee, I like spear in left and anything else in right, or parrying dagger in left and anything else in right.
@Sparkly:
Yes: dual Bandit's Knife and Bandit's Knife/ Parrying Dagger combo. Lots of fun!

I create a Bruce Lee toon that dual wields Dtagon Bone Fists and wears only pants. It is Dark Souls Hardcore Mode.

I can vouch for her. Mildred's definitely kicked my *** while duel-wielding in Fight Club.

Re: Dual wielding?
Wielding different weapons might be good but not the same ones. It was useful in Demon Soul's for Int builds since they could get extra MP regeneration.

Re: Dual wielding?
I think people just haven't experimented with two of the same weapon enough yet to find it useful. But I'm toying with the idea of dual Velka's Rapiers. When you spam R1 with Velka's, the first hit gets a decent lunge in there but the subsequent ones have much shorter range--good when your opponent is right in front of you, but not if he's backing away. A Velka's in your left hand will give you the same lunge hit when you press L1, so if you keep alternating R1 and L1 when dual wielding Velka's you keep doing the lunging attacks and get some good distance.
I'm sure there are other weapons that have benefits of dual wielding.

This is my first play through and I've done nothing but dual wield my katanas. Uchigatana in my right, iato in my left. I don't like using shields at all so I can vouch for dual wielding. I've made it to seath the scales with them.
