I don't think it makes much of a difference. If you want to invade in most cases lower is better. But as a host it shouldn't make any difference at all.

It doesn't matter much like Errjon said, and you can still invade at the higher level with DM if you're having trouble with your red sign or orb

I normally do 125. But, for some reason, all of my builds are 120. maybe FC has something to do with that?? Hmmmm. . . .

If you're interested in FC, stay at 120. You can PvP there and elsewhere.

Ive fought a guy one whos at sl 187 in dark anor. We had a great duell when i defeated him i got a lot of souls. About 880 000 souls. He was wearing smouth gear and bkga. I pm him and he said he was sl 187. I was 120 so dont see why i must uplvl. 130 is for FC but also good enough to invade everybody almost
