I hope no one gets the wrong idea about this thread, i like great hammers and really like the large club. What im getting at with this post is, have any of you noticed that the rolling r1 attack with great hammers seems to have a way to exploit a glitchy hit box? i even tested this out a bit and it seems to work 50-75% of the time. I have done it to others and have had it done to my self, you can basically hit someone with ghost dmg while still maintaining distance. Idk if this has anything or everything to do with lag but you can for certain hit people without actually having to connect(or be close for that matter). i have learned to keep my distance but i have noticed more and more dragon bodys using great/large club and using the roar attack and then doing the rolling r1 and managing to hit even outside the range of the roar. I'm not crying about this just thought it was an interesting little exploit.

Re: Great Hammers
It's because the rolling R1 attack for them dead angles, it can ignore shields also. With lag it can be really bad and a buffed dead angle rolling club R1 can easily spell the end of you. It's just the way some weapons work, it's the reason I never see people swing their clubs any more, just rolling attacks. Though you can just roll through it and BS them unless you're doing a no-bs duel. In that case, spears?

Re: Great Hammers
it has dead angles and lag helps the reach sometimes but it's npot as bad as thrusting weapons like rapiers and spears which people use knowing that lag will help them a lot.

Re: Great Hammers
yea that seems to be the case. All weapons can have the same problem but ive noticed a lot of people using clubs for this reason. maybe im imagining it but it just seems like a few more exploits have been discovered. I have been encountering a lot of people who obviously know a way to make fire surge invisible(some have a way of doing it without raising their arm which i think might just be major lag). Another one is in the kiln i have made almost 5 people now fall through the snow by backstabbing them, doesnt matter if they had full life and i do it with a base weapon they are dead cause they fall through(im very curious as to what this looks like from their perspective).
sry this is barely about great hammers now i have a bad habit of going off topic.

Re: Great Hammers
That's a glitch Fruit, which is better left unexplained as of to how it is done.

Re: Great Hammers
the clubs have realy good reach though, that might be why it seems like they can hit you from really far away, the only problem is lag which there's nothing we can do about tha anyway. the 2h rolling attack does have an awesome aoe attack just ike the greataxe in demon's which i love and has good reach and so far no one's been able to parry me while i do that but like i said before people use weapons with long reach because they wanna take advantage of the lag which i think is so cheap and that's why you osee everyone using spears and rapiers.
edit; ive seen the firesurge thing, it can hit you from 20 feet away and you dont even see it, everytime that happens i just crystal out, not worth playing against someone with that kind of lag.

Re: Great Hammers
im thinking theres a forum post on game faqs or a you tube video cause i did witness this back near release but i blamed lag and thought it was a rare or one time thing. In just the last month i have noticed a whole lot of people pull that trick out. not really that bad, running firestorm would be a hell of a lot worse.

ive been wondering that also rant. i have never had it happen to me nor have i been able to parry that slam move from great clubs or the 2h r2 attack from the butcher knife. im curious on if its possible or not.

Re: Great Hammers
The rolling GC attack you mean? Yes, but it is a ***** and a half to land. First of all you have to position yourself so that you are directly facing them, so if they are dead angling it you have to figure where they are going to be aiming. If they are using lock on, you actually might want to stand still and let it come straight at you. Because if dead angle damage comes in, well you can't parry a dead angle.
