Re: Show your culture
Metallica definitely is not. The sinister music was some foreshadowing of a potential rant from me no one wants to hear.
Sorry, I'll stop. They're not my favorite but there's nothing wrong with a person's preference. I saw them in concert once and they do put on a good show I admit

Re: Show your culture
If you get a chance, watch Rammstein live! I hated them before I had to watch them on a festival. It was the "Reise, Reise"-set as seen on the "Völkerball"-DVD. It was simply mindblowing. Maybe not the best band I ever saw live (Tool, Metallica, Qotsa, NIN in that order) but definitly the most spectacular live-show.

Re: Show your culture
Metallica was unbelivable.
It was back in 2003 when they just released St. Anger, but luckily they only played two songs of that album (which I happend to like(the songs, not the album)).
Since they were the headliners of the festival, they played after sunset. All day the weather was hot and sticky with high humidity and when the band started playing you could see the clouds closing in behind the stage.
After the first half of the set, they started playing "One", when all of the sudden thunder started roaring. Then, in a distance behind the stage, you could see lightnigs coming down from the sky, almost as if they were hitting the stage.
You coulden´t ask for a better setting.

Or also Mildred, I once saw a concert video where during a song they put one band member into a big kettle, and then let fire burst up on its sides
