All Encompassing TV Show Thread

So I keep starting to talk about TV shows in the film thread and then stopping myself so as not to railroad the thread, so thought creating this might be a more suitable solution. So yeah. Talk about anything TV show related you'd like.

Anyway what really inspired me to create this thread is the live action version of the show "The Tick." I absolutely love the cartoon. It's one of those shows that worked for both children and adults, at least I think, and is just good clean fun. In fact I've been considering the ticks face reflected in a spoon, or possibly holding Little Wooden Boy in triumph, as my next tattoo. So I just noticed yesterday that Netflix added the live action adaptation to their streaming list, and I'd never seen it before so I checked it out. It is GOD AWFUL. I don't understand what would have possessed them to try to do that. The Tick is just not a show that really translates to live action. They also changed all the characters around. American Maid and Die Fledermaus are completely different characters with similar themes, and the awesome RainMan-esque Sewer Urchin is nowhere to be found. Anyone else have an opinion about this?

Never saw the live one but the cartoon was amazing. I really got into Wilfred. Liked the American version a little better and since the same guy did both the translation between the two is moot. Plus we all know about my Elijah Wood man crush

I unfortunately have only caught a few episodes of Wilfred, of the Elijah Wood variety. I definitely liked what I saw. It was just one of those shows I happened to keep missing.
