So after waiting years for this to come out, it turns out it's been out for a month and I didn't even know. Of course, I believe it's another From Software game, making it automatically great. I owned For Answer and that was pretty good so I'm hoping the customisation in this one will be just as detailed. Anyone got the game yet? How is it, let's get some reviews up here!

Re: Armoured Core V
IGN gave it a 7.5
The pro's being improved gameplay mechanics, attention to detail, multiplayer and graphics. The con's being mediocre single player missions, steep learning curve and lack of instruction.

Re: Armoured Core V
I have not been able to get it, for whatever stupid reason the video rental stores here don't have 4A or 5 and I am not in the mood to drop $60, haven't seen it used yet, on a game when I won't be able to touch the online componant anytime soon. As far as I can tell it's the same as AC4A just smaller mechs and more team based which isn't a bad direction.
As for reviews, my saying is rent it and make your own opinion.

Okay, thank's guys! It's £30 in my local Asda so I thought it would be good value but I'll check out some more reviews first. By smaller mechs I assume you mean you don't crush buildings under your feet this time? Steep learning curve and lack of instruction are nothing new to the Armoured Core series, so I suppose I should like it.

Yeah, they've based the combat more on strategy rather than speed and reflexes. The mech's are about half of their original size and can now run between buildings. The combat also looks more urban based rather than in large desolate area's. They want you to focus on stealth, using cover, strategy and different builds to beat the game.

Re: Armoured Core V
Well I did like the freedom to move around large battlefields but I suppose you can do the same in this one if you travel at height. I was always a light, fast build guy myself but I can always adapt, or atleast try to.

Re: Armoured Core V
I started out using the heavier tank like builds, but later on I began using ultra light mechs, wielding a couple small guns and the moonlight sword. I focused on maneuverability. I'm sure the same level of customization exists.

Re: Armoured Core V
The moonlight sword always was my favourite, though it got a bad reputation for being overpowered and a troll weapon.

I actually recently got into AC, I bought FA about 2 months ago and I've never visited any of its forums or played online.

I have loved Mech games since the original Mech Warrior and RoboTech.

I got into it either last year or the year before when a friend introduced me to FA. I've played online and the PVP is tough as hell, all these dedicated Asian players demolish me.

PvP is crazy on FA. Meridam....YEAH ROBOTECH!
I might have to get this one eventually. I spent hours making decals for my crafts that's how much I love the detail. And don't get me started about ballast!

Dear god don't start on the ballast. decals were pretty cool, but half of the ones online were made to look suggestive...

Re: Armoured Core V
God thanks you guys for making me start regretting trading my copies in, I loved the overall customization. Usually used medium mechs, more specifically I believe the name was Ray Lenard or something like that had great speed for it's size, was sad that you destroyed the company in 4. I abused speed and machine guns before the 1.5 patch, after that I used a Zenith build from Front Mission with focus on medium range.

Re: Armoured Core V
Yeah I remember there was a pre-built mech that was super lightweight and spammed chainguns. It moved like lightning but ran out of thrust so fast. Good to know we're bringing in the nostalgia here.

Re: Armoured Core V
Armored core series was never "great" on reviews mostly because the genre had a steep learning curve & i don't believe From forked over any cash to the reviewing magazines for a great one like some other companies.
It's definitely a hard to master game & one if not the best Mech games for gear heads, i alone can spend hours only customizing my AC's.
Anyway, don't believe what you read on game magazines (fyi Destructiod gave it 3.5 - a horrible review) i was many times turned away bye some crappy *** review only to find out that the game wasn't all that bad or even quite good.
If you love AC you are going to love AC5 & if you love online PvP....well
I totally went off topic here but just wanted to say that
