Is there a specific sl we focus on or do we just hunt wherever?

Hunt at whatever SL you want, for duelling events though SL120 is the ideal range. As well for our Men who wish to take part in FC 120 is of course a necessity. Other than that though, we have no required SL as said in the OP. You can be SL700 and still be an active member.
