pvp-arena?

I see there will be a new pvp arena sorta thing in the port, wont that make the covenants useless?

I think the Arena is specifically where "matchmaking" is for.

Yea but who will invade when there is a matchmaking arena?

I signed the petition just now. I have little doubt that they would neglect their sony fans though. They haven't (on this series) so far.

I will. I will still enjoy the immersion and activity of the game, but the Arena will be where the FC off these forums really shines. I feel like the Arena could be implemented really well anyhow.

Design an area where you go, and drop a specific soapstone and the system tries to summon another combatant (who has also dropped a stone) that is within 5 levels of you. The Arena boots up with a ready menu and the rules.

Edit: Or have a host drop a stone in the arena. The challenger touches it and gets sucked into the host's world for a duel. Rules showing up at a ready menu like previously.

PvP arena?

Bad move in my opinion, noone is gonna Invade anymore once that's there as it's 100% sure 1v1s with people. Gonna ruin the great online play that's already implemented.

A definite step in the wrong direction in an attempt to cater for the masses. Hope this kind of thinking doesn't fuel the next soul game or it's gonna get more watered down than my nephew's ribena :|

Thats also just an arena like area, its in no way a sure indication of a dedicated pvp arena. It may well be just a new area.

I didn't see anything in the link that said anything about the arena being PvP.

I'm still unsure what they meant by matchmaking support. Maybe that was simply suppose to specify the current multiplayer will travel with the port to PC. Or maybe there will be a new multiplayer setup.

Hope you forum and buggy are both correct, though i still say it would be a bad move if arenas were implemented, I hope that's just a sketch of a new part of a map, perhaps a boss arena?

All we have seen was the term 'match-making'. This could be anything from a new system to an area that doesn't allow white phantoms and only 1 invader.

Oh right. Being away from the game for so long made me forget how well the game defines 'random'.
